North Tan Uyen district was separated and put into operation on April 1, 2014.

The district economic structure is based mainly on agriculture with 48.48% and the remaining for industry and service. Thanks to strongly investment of infrastructure facility, the locality enjoys advantages of investment attraction and socio-economic development.
Offering advantages for businesses
North Tan Uyen district has 4 industrial parks and compounds such as Dat Cuoc, Tan Binh, Tan Uyen industry-service-urban area and Tan My with the total area of 1,104.5ha. These industrial parks and compounds now attract 132 enterprises, 16 of which are foreign companies.
The district enterprises involve mainly in fields of producing and processing timber products, apparel, machines, equipment, mineral products.
Since its inception, the district People’s Committee receives 10 cases of surveying investment locations. The district answered 6 cases, 4 remaining ones are under consideration by experts.
In terms of trade and service fields, the district People’s Committee granted 75 business registration certificates with trades of agricultural production, gastronomy business with the total capital of VND86.2bil.
Aside from offering favorable conditions for enterprises’ operation, the district People’s Committee assists site clearance and compensation to help enterprises spur projects.
Nguyen Thanh Tung, vice director of Nam Vien Steel Company in Tan My commune, North Tan Uyen district said that amid difficult economic situation, enterprises always receive care from local authorities at all levels. This is a great encouragement to ensure job and life and income for laborers.
Spurring investment in infrastructure facility
As a newly-established district, North Tan Uyen district administration focuses on developing infrastructure facility with 50 investment projects, 19 of which are underway and 31 ones under preparation with the total capital of VND67bil. At present, the provincial administration disburses VND47.6bil, winning 70.67% of its plan.
One of the most concerned works is the traffic work from Muoi Muon T-junction to Tan Thanh T-junction. This work is under site clearance and construction.
In addition, the project of water drainage system is ratified to solve flooding on rainy season along to DT741 road. At present, functional agencies completes inspection work and are implementing the subsequent procedures.
The district People’s Committee also adjusts detailed planning on construction of North Tan Uyen district administration center and resettlement area. Accordingly, the expanded project of the administration area is located on an area of 595.4ha, 50.73ha of which are for administration center, 544.69ha are for trade service-urban-industry area and more.
Social welfare ensured
North Tan Uyen district now has 145 needy households, accounting for 1.26%. The locality wins many other remarkable results such as significant reduction of under 5-year-old children malnutrition, high increase of rate of households using clean water and national grid and so on.
In order to gain the economic growth goal of 11.2% per year and an average income of VND32.8mil in 2014, North Tan Uyen district People’s Committee focuses on promoting potentials and available advantages such as agro-irrigation system, forestry as well as ensuring social welfare through programs of vocational training and job placement and among others.
Especially, with the national goal program of new rural building, the district has so far had 4 out of 10 communes under ratification of planning projects of new rural building such as Tan My, Binh My, Tan Dinh, Lac An; 6/10 communes under completion of planning projects of new rural building including Tan Thanh, Dat Cuoc, Tan Lap, Thuong Tan, Hieu Liem and Tan Binh.
Assurance of social welfare and infrastructure facility will be good conditions for North Tan Uyen district to attract investment projects and rise up development.
