Although being a newly-established district, North Tan Uyen has determined to perfect the local infrastructure and make the shift of the local economic structure to be able to become a new industrial hub of the province.

Thriving economy
North Tan Uyen district is now home to 4 industrial parks and compounds with 828.79 hectares in total. They include Dat Cuoc industrial park of 212.84 hectares with infrastructure perfected and land tenancy ratio reaching 47.4% of total area; Tan Uyen industrial-urban park of 173.7 hectares in Tan Binh commune; Tan Binh industrial park of 353 hectares and Tan My industrial compound of 88.9 hectares under construction.
The above conditions will create favorable conditions for the district to welcome new investment flows in the near future. The district has so far absorbed 296 enterprises and branches in operation with a total registered capital of VND1.658trillion…
Thanks to having the application of sci-tech advancements in production under the province’s policy, the district has developed 109 farms, comprising of 55 perennial trees-growing farms, 51 animal husbandry farms and 3 general ones with the average income of VND1bln per farm per year. They have also generated jobs for more than 1,130 laborers.
Many farming households in the district have bravely shifted their structure of plants with high economic efficiency. The whole district now has a total of 1,298 hectares of fruit trees and has initially formed up a specialized area on citrus fruits of 940 hectares, mainly in communes along Dong Nai and Be rivers.
The district is also home to 30 pig farms with nearly 54,670 pigs, 22 chicken farms with more than 1.6mln of chickens together with more than 1,950 buffaloes and cows. The local herd of livestock has seen an increase in both quality and quantity. The district has defined that animal husbandry is a spearheading industry of the locality and it is developed under industrial and semi-industrial formulas.
Focusing on perfecting infrastructure
The district has concentrated on planning work with detail plans approved such as the district’s overall plan for socio-economic development till 2015; the master plan on Tan Thanh urban area; the district’s plan on Administration Center and resettlement area; the plan for 10 new rural communes…
The whole district now has a total of 494 roads of 535 kilometers. In general, the district’s traffic infrastructure has basically met the local people’s demand.
In terms of the local socio-economic development orientations, according to Nguyen Ngoc Hiep, Chairman of North Tan Uyen district’s People’s Committee, the district will mobilize all resources to promote the local socio-economic development in the 2015-2020 period in a synchronous, sustainable and comprehensive way. Particularly, the district will further boost the shift of the local economic structure; promote industrial manufacture in association with urban and service development; step by step promote agricultural, rural industrialization
and modernization under hi-tech models; simultaneously maintain economic growth in association with sustainable socio-cultural development…
The district has so far formed up some tourist projects, including Green Eye resort, Han Tam Dang eco-tourism site, Phuoc Loc Tho eco-tourism site…, thereby creating the premise for it to foster the local tourism development.
