North Tan Uyen's economy to develop adequately

With right orientations, the economy of North Tan Uyen District has maintained a steady growth. The industrial growth is on the right track according to the planning and do not negatively impact the environment.

To sustain good growth rate

From a district devoted mostly to agriculture, currently industrial sectors, handicrafts in North Tan Uyen District has good progresses, maintained steady growth, ensured the compliance with planning and not to negatively impact the environment. Currently, the district has 4 industrial parks, clusters with a total area of 1,073 ha. The industrial parks, clusters basically completed investment process in infrastructure and attracted 185 projects. Besides, there are 52 projects outside industrial parks, clusters. The district has accumulatively 581 enterprises having business registration certificate, with a total investment capital of VND 9,583.2 billion. Besides, the district attracted new investment industrial parks Tan Thanh 1 (200ha) and VSIP 3 (790.4ha), which are completing land clearance process.

During the first 6 months, despite the influence of Covid-19, the district's economy maintained steady growth rate, social security policies and public order in the district was performed well. In economy field, production value of each sector increased compared to the same period last year. Economic-technical infrastructure system, social infrastructure continued to be invested to better serve the people's demand, local socio-economic development's requirements.

The district's industrial production value of the six months was estimated at VND 2,022 billion, up 6.87% over the same period, and reaching 47.74% target. In which, the domestic sector gained an investment of VND1,221 billion (up 7.01%), FDI sector gained VND801 billion (up 6.66%). According to the district economic office, over 6 months, industrial parks and clusters attracted 7 projects. Dat Cuoc industrial park attracted six projects, with an area of 4.6ha; Tan Binh industrial park attracted 1 project with an area of 1ha. In addition, the district People's Committee submitted written documents to provincial departments about 8 investment projects outside industrial parks. Provincial Department of Planning and Investment also granted 41 business registration certificate to  enterprises in the district, with a total capital of VND415.2 billion.

Production value of economic sectors in the district increased over the same period last year, however the growth rate was not high and the progress did not meet the planning. The main cause was the Covid-19 pandemic developed complicatedly and influenced the investment production of businesses and consumption of people, diminishing the economic growth of the whole country in general and North Tan Uyen District in particular. In addition, the district did not attract all kinds of investment projects, but followed the orientation towards industrial development tied to environmental protection. During the first 6 months, some investment records in industrial field did not conform to the planning, thus the number of approved projects was low...

To form a solid foundation

According to Tran Thi Minh Hanh, vice chairwoman of North Tan Uyen District People's Committee, in the coming time, the district will focuses on investment in industrial parks having completed infrastructure, encourage investment in high-tech sectors that apply advanced science and technology, and are environmentally friendly. The district also endeavors to settle quickly, properly investment records of enterprises outside industrial zones. To promote rapid and sustainable economic development, the district always identifies the infrastructure investment and development is a critical task. Infrastructure in the district has been increasingly comprehensive, basically meet people and enterprises' demand, and create favorable conditions for accelerate the local socio-economic development.

During tenure 2015-2020, the district concentrated its investment in 292 infrastructure development works, with a total capital of about VND2,545 billion. Besides, an advantage of North Tan Uyen is the investment of the province in key infrastructure works to ensure regional connection and motivate socio-economic development. At present, the district People's Committee actively assisted investors in accelerating the compensation and clearance for projects: Dat Cuoc industrial park, Tan Binh industrial park, VSIP 3 - Tan Lap commune (Phase 1). At the same time, to strengthen the examination of law enforcement on fields of land, environment, construction at industrial production, handicraft facilities, strictly handle violations.

The district also boosts investment attraction in various types of industrial support services, agricultural development, tourism services, finance-banking, transportation; encourages socialization investment in markets, supermarkets and commercial centers to develop trade-services serving people needs. Leaders of North Tan Uyen District also worked and agreed with Vingroup about the scale and content of the 1/500 detailed plan for the North Tan Uyen Vinhomes commercial and urban area. According to the evaluation, Vingroup's investment in the district is consistent with the policy of strengthening the attraction of industrial support services, agricultural development, tourism, finance-banking, transportation... Hopefully, the project will create a large motivation for economic development of the home district.
