From the beginning of this year, many enterprises in the province have received production orders for until mid-year, even some enterprises have orders until the end of the year. This result shows that this year the province would continue to gain success in exports.

Abundant orders

Only in January 2020, many businesses in the province received orders for until middle, even the end of the year. This is a good signal that helps businesses feel more confident in production and investment to improve product quality. According to Dien Quang Hiep, Chairman of Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA), in 2020, the wood industry is expected to continue to attain high growth rate. At present, many member companies have orders for until the end of the year. After Tet holiday, to solve the problem of labor shortage, many large enterprises joined hands with other furniture manufacturing organisations to share their orders to ensure sources.

Huynh Quang Thanh, General Director of Hiep Long Company (Thuan An Town), said that the company's products were mainly exported to European and American markets. In 2019, the company's exports increased by more than 10% compared to the previous year. The company received many large orders for until mid-year.

Meanwhile, in sectors like footwear, machinery, equipment and spare parts, garments..., many businesses have received orders for the third quarter, some businesses have orders for until the end of 2020. Đào Minh Ngọc, Director of Phuong Vy Company, said that his company had orders for until the third quarter of 2020. It is expected that this year the company's revenue would increase by 10% over the previous year. Right from the beginning of 2020, the company invests more in new technologies to improve the quality and design of products to stabilize and expand their market.

According to Phan Lê Diễm Trang, Vice Chairwoman of Binh Duong Textile and Garment Association, currently, some member enterprises have orders for until the second quarter of 2020. However, what garment enterprises are worried about is that after Lunar New Year, labor fluctuations affect the execution progress of signed export orders.

To focus on human resource training

Trần Tuấn Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade, said that besides the advantages from FTAs, the export situation could be difficult, because of impacts of the US-China trade war and the slow growth of world economy. However, businesses that have plans and solutions from the beginning of the year take advantage of the opportunities provided. In fact, orders are being shifted to Vietnam, including Binh Duong.

Edwin van de Sloot, Managing Director of ScanCom Vietnam Company (Di An Town), said the company was looking for lands in Binh Duong to expand production and boost exports. According to him, in the coming time, the provincial government should pay more attention to the application of 4.0 technologies to have a database connecting domestic production facilities, thereby helping businesses to buy domestic raw materials for processing.  Therefore, Binh Duong's industry would develop higher and more sustainable in the future. It is known that provincial Department of Industry and Trade has been actively implementing the project of enterprise database to have transparent information to facilitate domestic enterprises and attract investment in high-tech industries.

Trần Thanh Liêm, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that in 2020, the province continues to direct sectors to intensify training of qualified human resources to meet production needs of enterprises. He also encouraged associations, industries and businesses to actively connect and contact universities and vocational training institutions to train human resources to meet production development needs and ensure the sustainable development of enterprises and the province.
