Binh Duong is home to a large area of orchards, locating mainly at Lai Thieu (Thuan An town), Bach Dang, Tan Dinh and Hieu Liem (Tan Uyen), Long Nguyen, Tru Van Tho (Ben Cat)… Farmers getting success with the segment fruit tree include Le Van Xe, Pham The Hoang, Lam Thanh Thuong in Tan Uyen district, Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Le Van Phan in Ben Cat district. By their creation, diligence, these farmers have created a high effective model of growing fruit trees, earning a big income.
On surveys, most of orchards in the province have been applied high technology of automatic watering… Tan Uyen district’s Hieu Liem commune now has many farmers good at tech-science application to win abundant harvests.
However, fruit tree growing in the province remains shortcomings. The above mentioned farmers have big initial capital sources. As such, it is difficult to expand the model. Linkage between farmstead owners and businesses remains weak while preliminary treatment and preservation steps have been paid less attention…
If the difficulties are improved, it is sure that models of growing speciality orchards in the locality will reached high results.
The entire province now has about 1,400 ha of speciality orchards, mainly green-skin grapefruit, orange, mandarine… with an average capacity of 33 tons/year, reaping about VND1bil/year. Many farmsteads with large areas have brought billions of VND per year.
