Over VND11 trillion spent on VAT refunds

According to data provided by provincial State Treasury, as of late June 2024, the total amount disbursed in value-added tax (VAT) refunds through provincial State Treasury from the 2024 budget was VND 11,001.38 billion. The total number of refund applications was 1,021, with the requested amount being VND 8,452.22 billion. Upon review, 99.41% of enterprises submitted electronic refund applications, with a total resolved refund amount of VND 4,926.1 billion. The refunded amounts primarily catered to cases of investment, export, and other specific cases.

"Currently, the number of pending tax refund applications carried over to the next period (as they have not yet reached the deadline) is 320 applications, with the requested refund amounting to VND 3,303.7 billion. Among these, 99.38% are electronic applications. The remaining amount from the tax refund decisions transferred by the tax authorities is currently being processed by provincial State Treasury in accordance with the law.
