Dau Tieng district’s Farmers Association yesterday held a conference to review the movement of “Good farmer in production and business” in the period of 2012 and 2014.
During the period, the district’s Farmers Associations at all levels mobilized more than VND1.1bln for the local Support Fund for Farmers, lifting the fund to VND1.8bln. Upon the fund, they provided 697 members with loans to develop home based business.
They also teamed up with the Dau Tieng branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to disburse more than VND56bln in preferential loan for 5,060 members; set up and keep control of 103 loan-giving groups; mobilized members to help each other by many forms with a total value of more than VND6bln.
Over the past three years, there were 19,634 farming households winning the title of “Good farmer in production and business” at all levels. Of these, 106 were recognized as good farmers at central level, 1,440 at provincial level…The movement of “Good farmer in production and business” over time made strong impacts on the local economic development, creating stable jobs for 4,962 laborers and helping 906 households escape poverty.
Also on this occasion, 13 collectives and 37 individuals were awarded the certificates of merit of the district’s People’s Committee for their excellent achievements in the movement of “Good farmer in production and business” between 2012 and 2014.
