The fifth conference of provincial Farmers’ Association for the 2013-2018 tenure opened on November 26 to review the association’s activities in 2014 and define orientations, tasks through 2015.
Attending the event was Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of provincial Committee for Public Relations.
In 2014, provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels actively mobilized members to effectively carry out national target programs and emulation movements... The whole province now has a total of more than 55,000 members, including 37,000 recognized as good farmers in production and business. So far, provincial Farmers’ Support Fund has reached more than VND69bln and provided more than VND66bln in loan for 3,919 farming households; mobilized more than VND16bln for 2,980 needy farmers to develop home based business. Upon the above efforts, 238 farming households rose up out of poverty. Provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels also mobilized members to contribute more than 6,200 working days, more than VND18bln to the local tasks of making rural roads and urban rejuvenation.
On this occasion, 16 collectives and 41 individuals were also honored for their excellent achievements in the local farmers’ movements in 2014.
