In the first quarter of 2020, Vietnam achieved a growth of 3.82%, a relatively high growth rate compared to the world average. According to the assessment, this is the highest growth rate of ASEAN countries in the first quarter.
During a pandemic, the economy was like a spring compressed, now is the time to be ready to inflate. In that spirit, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated that 5 "frontier armor" will focus on implementation, including: Attracting investment, firstly private investment; FDI attraction; boost exports; promote public investment and encourage domestic consumption. A survey of the current situation of enterprises conducted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in early May showed that 55% of businesses will continue to maintain the current production scale in the third quarter, about 22% of enterprises have successive plans. plans to expand production and business, only 21% will narrow the scale, suspend operations. It can be clearly seen that the rate of enterprises expanding production and business scale is also much lower than before the epidemic and the rate of enterprises expected to scale down is also higher. However, it is very respectful that many businesses, even though profits are no longer, even loss, revenue decline, still try with the highest level to take care of workers.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of VCCI, said that in the country, the confidence of people and businesses continued to be aroused. Internationally, the movement of global supply chains is targeting Vietnam as a safe destination. To take this opportunity, promoting institutional reform is the most important foundation. “When I asked leaders of large enterprises, even in the most difficult times of a pandemic, what they needed, they said very frankly and sincerely that, knowing the State was difficult, businesses did not ask for money, only please mechanism.
