Overcoming sun and rain on key construction sites

During the holidays celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification Day (April 30), and International Labor Day (May 1), officers, engineers, and workers in Binh Duong province continued to work day and night to expedite construction progress on key projects. The sounds of steamrollers, welding, cranes, and the laughter of workers created a vibrant atmosphere that echoed the celebration of the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

Construction executed during holidays

During the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project, constructors organized for officers, engineers, and workers to continue their work over the holidays. Specifically, at the construction site for the third section, which runs from Binh Chuan in Thuan An City to the Saigon River, nearly 50 engineers and workers had been diligently working throughout the holiday period. Mr. Nguyen Van Cong, Executive Director of Construction Package 3 Project, said that during the recent holidays, the weather was hot, but the staff, engineers and workers all tried their best to speed up the construction progress. This is also a practical action of all staff, engineers and workers to celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day.

Meanwhile, at the construction site of the Suoi Cai dredging and reinforcement project from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river, the investor simultaneously deployed 4 bidding packages with more than 500 engineers and workers working day and night to closely follow the project, with the common goal of completing the project early and ensuring the best quality for each item of the project. Mr. Tran Van Tuyen, a construction worker on the project, shared: “We always put construction progress and quality first. That's why, during the recent holidays, we still worked hard, regardless of rain or shine."

Workers endure the sun and rain at the construction site of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project during the latest April 30 holidays.

Mr. Vu Minh Nghia, Deputy Director of Construction Enterprise 13, which is overseeing the project to dredge and reinforce Suoi Cai from Tho Ut Bridge to the Dong Nai River, stated that the team of officers, engineers, and workers has been working through the April 30 and May 1 holidays. As the rainy season has begun, weather conditions will impact construction progress. To ensure the project stays on schedule, the team has implemented overtime and increased shifts. Despite the substantial workload, the staff, engineers, and workers at the construction site are committed to expediting the project's completion, determined to "overcome the sun and rain" to effectively address the flooding issues in this area during the rainy season.

Mr. Vu Minh Nghia, Deputy Director of Construction Enterprise 13, the constructor of the project to dredge and reinforce Suoi Cai from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river: “To support our workers, we offer bonuses and overtime allowances during the holidays. Additionally, to promote their well-being, we have set up temporary tents at the construction site to provide shade from the sun, allowing our workers to rest and recharge after long hours of hard work.”.

To speed up progress

Mr. Nguyen Van Cong informed that up to now, the construction package 3 of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project through the province has achieved nearly 39.5% of the total package value. Currently, the construction unit is implementing the main and left parallel sand filling; installing formwork, steel reinforcement, pouring concrete for the left parallel bottom slab of the box culvert Km49+768...

For the project of dredging and reinforcing Suoi Cai from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river, so far, construction package No. 2A has completed about 55% of the contract; construction package No. 2B has completed about 50% of the contract; construction and equipment installation package No. 4 has completed about 8% of the contract; construction and equipment installation package No. 6 has completed 8.6% of the contract.

Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Project Management Board for Agriculture and Rural Development, said that in the coming time, in order to ensure the construction progress of 2 packages 2A, 2B (from after Tho Ut bridge to before Ben San bridge) of the project to dredge and reinforce Suoi Cai from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river, the Management Board requested People's Committee of Tan Uyen city to direct the City Land Fund Development Center to promptly resolve difficulties and problems regarding the site to organize the construction to complete the package. For the two construction and equipment installation packages No. 04, 6A (section from after Ben San bridge to before Khanh Van bridge and section from after Khanh Van bridge to before Tong Bang bridge) of this project, the Management Board requested that Tan Uyen City expedite the site handover to facilitate construction of the packages.
