In recent years, trade and services are holding vita roles of economic development in the province. Industry has been developed dramatically by the connected value chains of multi-national groups, rational transition of internal departments, and increased application of science and technologies as firm foundation for enterprises to develop. The policies of promoting economic development transition to the North of the province as the investments lured to trade and services in the South of the province have boldly effective to create a eye-catching, modern, and synchronous appearance.
Besides, exportation is growing averagely 9.31% per year as the market has been expand in terms of exporting goods of processing industries in a set of favorable conditions or trade and services to leap up. Concurrently, tourism has been continually developed with 5% of growth year on year regarding quantity of visitors and 6% of revenues. The scale and quality of trade promotion and tourism image broadcasting have been extended to rational trends.
Rational and focused investment resources have triggered the core infrastructure to effectively satisfy the needs of investors in new fields of high-quality industrial and service development. Up to date, the effectively operating high-quality services to support industrial and urban development of the province have been mainly on finance, banking, insurance, e-commerce, information and communication, logistics and storage, and tourism. It is noticeable that trade-service infrastructure has been upgraded to sustain various forms of distribution by the major brandnames of the nation and the world.
Ho Van Binh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong provincial Department of Industry and Trade informed that trade-service infrastructure in Binh Duong has in recent years been continually developed and upgraded. Currently, 106 market places, 3 commercial centers, 11 supermarkets, and developed system of mini marts and facilities have contributed to the formation of modern and advanced trading environment. In rural areas, the department has coordinated with local authorities to invite investments into construction and upgrade of market places, traditional market system, and trade-service establishments to well implement the development of uniform and modern trade and services.
Infrastructure-based breakthroughs
Despite awarding results, the desire to emerge in sustainable development has been in place. Provincial leaders on evaluating the last term have been straightforward to acknowledge that economic growth quality has not been truly sustainable as high-quality and greatly value-added services and services supporting industrial and urban development have not matched the potentials of the province.
Upholding the feedbacks to become better, Binh Duong provincial authority has always been in the position of listening to business community to improve the investment environment. In the new stage, the provincial authority is concentrating on development of high-quality services to facilitate strong growth of investing enterprises and sustainability of the province. On proposing the matter of infrastructure, Robert Hoeve, Director of Red River Foods Vietnam Corporation in Tan Binh Industrial Park said: “Some current major issues of the province are that infrastructure of the province should be more synchronous to facilitate better transportation of enterprises. The transportation distance from Saigon office to our factory and Tan Binh Industrial Park is our current barrier.”
For the time to come, Binh Duong provincial authority focuses on drastic implementation of measures for correcting the current urbanity and construction of new ones of strategic smart urban development by diversified investments, contributing to the improvement of general urban appearance of the province and elevate public living conditions, creating momentum for investment luring and socio-economic development. Of the process, the provincial authority is paying attention to developing high-quality services compatible to industrial and urban development with higer ratio of trade and services in economic structure of the province. The projects investing into developing commercial infrastructure, modern distribution forms, stable and developed market, assured demands and supplies, especially the necessities shall be encouraged.
Particularly, the construction of World Trade Center complex in Binh Duong New City and the lands offered to trade-service projects have improved investment and trade promotion that are hopefully to create boost of competitiveness among enterprises. The trade center in Binh Duong New City is a multi-functional complex and a new destination for banks, investment funds, commercial investors, start-ups, and technological companies to invest and seek for opportunities.
In the meantime, Binh Duong provincial authority is restructuring services by prioritizing advantageous services of high added values, healthcare, education, and banking, logistics, domestic and foreign investments, goods distribution center, convenient traffic network, shallow ports, gradual creation of modern logistics network, contributing to the promotion of supporting supplies to production, domestic and foreign consumption and exportation.
