Upon implementing urban construction and development, in 2017, Thu Dau Mot City was recognized by Prime Minister as Grade I urban area and held a public ceremony. For example, the project to open new dyke road along Ba Co canal (according to the planning of zone N8) in Chanh My ward with the length of 1,100m, from Binh Duong avenue to Chanh My ecological urban area. This project will be the link between the middle of the village, via Binh Duong avenue, Chanh My ecological urban area. The city invested this road to connect traffic, attract investment in Chanh My, Tuong Binh Hiep. Besides it is the East-West main road in Tan An ward with the length of 2,780m, from Nguyen Chi Thanh street to dike road. This road project aims to create a motive force for developing Tan An area. Along with that, the road 6 to extend Phan Dang Luu and Phan Dang Luu (Hiep An Ward), the first section is 820m long from Binh Duong Boulevard to Phan Dang Luu Street; Section 2 is 1.375m long from Huynh Thi Hieu Street to D1 subdivision. Under the zoning planning, this road connects Hoa Phu new urban area with Tan An, Tuong Binh Hiep. Once completed, the project will create momentum for the development of Tan An, Tuong Binh Hiep wards. The project is divided into 2 phases of investment, phase 1 from 2017 to 2020; phase 2 after 2020. In addition, businesses are currently implementing projects on riverside tourism, urban projects, residential areas such as the project of Phat Dat urban area.
To develop social infrastructure, Thu Dau Mot city build 8 school buildings, 1 regional general clinic and 3 medical stations. As for the construction of alleys of concrete, hot asphalt and alleys with public lighting, Thu Dau Mot has mobilized people and businesses to build alleys in the spirit of " State and people work together. In 2017 and the first 5 months of 2018, the whole town has 196 concreted alleys, of which 40 routes will be socialized, 79% of which will be concretized.
