Without overload
According to the Transport Management Office under the provincial Transport Department, the number of passengers traveling on Tet holiday increased sharply but there was no overload at coach stations. The result was thanks to good cooperation and preparation from coach stations and transport businesses.
From the first day of the first lunar month, some fixed routes’ transport has returned their operation. Most of transport means have satisfied regulations on transport. Especially, companies in industrial parks and workers at lodging houses had early contacts with transport businesses and cooperatives to come back home for Tet timely and safely.
Talking about the result, Binh Duong Coach Station vice director Huynh Van Trong, said “The result is thanks to the thorough preparation work. Earlier, the coach station directorate held a meeting on service behavior and provincial instruction for drivers and employees, so the work of passenger transport before, during and after Tet holiday took place orderly and safely. This is our common joy and shows that a thorough preparation will bring successes”.
Safety ensured
Binh Duong province had many laborers nationwide, so demand on transport before, during and after Tet holiday is very huge. From this reality, the local transport sector set out measures to solve the great demand.
Binh Duong Transport JSC vice director Nguyen Huu Quyen, said “our company specializes in transport business by buses, so on the days near Tet holiday, our company adjusts vehicles to ensure service for passengers as well as cooperates with local labor union to pick up passengers timely”.
The provincial Coach Station director Pham Van Son, shared “We sell coach tickets early to ensure order, safety as planned”.
Stabilized ticket prices
On the days before Tet, the local coach station transported 220,977 turns of passengers. After Tet holiday, from Feb. 10-17, there were 1,058 turns of vehicles departed the station and 68,055 turns of passengers transported.
Compared to 2012, the number of passengers transported at the station won 68.6%. The decrease was from cooperation between businesses and transport companies to pick up passengers at work.
In addition, transport units by buses well implemented passenger transport plan during Tet holiday timely. Local bus routes closed operation on the 29th day of lunar Dec. at 3 p.m and began its operation on the first day of the first lunar month on 9 a.m.
Transport businesses excelled price list as stipulated by the Joint circular 86 and 129.
To ensure safety and minimize traffic congestion during the Lady Thien Hau Temple festival at Thu Dau Mot city’s hub, the local transport department set out a plan on adjusting circulation of bus routes. Accordingly, some bus routes to Thu Dau Mot city’s center was forced to move to Binh Duong Avenue. In addition, the company offered free buses to cater for pilgrims.
