Facing the pressure of power shortage, Binh Duong Power Company (PCBD) has made efforts to implement solutions to meet the demand for electricity for production and daily life of businesses and people in the area. In which, the synchronously implemented power saving solutions have contributed to ensuring the uninterrupted and safe power supply.
Vinh Truong 110kV transformer station will be put into operation in 2023 to ensure the power source for industrial production and people's daily life.
To prioritize electricity for production
Le Minh Quoc Viet, Director of Binh Duong Power Company (PCBD), said that PCBD clearly defined the role of the power industry to be "one step ahead" to serve the economy - society. Over the past time, PCBD has always strived to overcome difficulties and challenges to have successfully completed the assigned tasks by always ensuring priority to meet the power source to serve industrial development, then to serve people's life and business activities.
In 2023, PCBD will continue to adhere to the motto of ensuring sufficient power supply with high quality, serving demand, and improving customer service. In the coming time, PCBD will focus on implementing strict supervision of technical management, grid operation management, incident prevention and reduction, and improvement of power supply reliability.
Specifically, by resolving the feedbacks and recommendations of customers of manufacturing enterprises, PCBD cooperated with Southern Power Corporation (EVN SPC) to urgently survey to promptly deploy the investment in substations, contributing to stabilizing the quality of electricity supplied to industrial parks and densely populated areas in the province. From the beginning of 2023, PCBD has put into operation many important power projects such as Vinh Truong substation in Thu Dau Mot city to supply and reduce the load for Binh Duong New city Center and neighboring industrial parks. The next step is the operation of 110kV My Hoa substation in Ben Cat town, which has helped ensure the power source for industrial parks in the area, and reduce the load pressure for stations in the area. In addition, other electrical works are also being urgently constructed to be put into use in time.
To use electricity economically and efficiently
In the condition that the load continuously grows, leading to the fact that the power grid often operates at full load, PCBD has developed reasonable power supply options; thus, contributing to minimizing breakdowns and maintaining a continuous, stable and increasingly high quality power source. PCBD always actively exploits the interconnection loops between 110kV substations in the area to switch the power supply as soon as there is a power failure, minimizing the time and scope of the power failure.
To ensure the quality of commercial electricity for customers, right from the end of 2022, EVN SPC has assigned PCBD the construction investment plan in 2023 with a total capital of nearly VND 234 billion, including 37 projects and 11 110kV projects, 24 medium and low voltage grid projects and 2 transitional procurement projects. Recently, EVN SPC assigned to supplement the construction investment plan in 2023 with an additional VND 20.5 billion to invest in starting 2 new projects.
The Department of Industry and Trade and PCBD have also strengthened propaganda and implemented solutions to save electricity and use energy efficiently. As a result, the saved electricity output in the first 6 months of the year reached 184.53 million kWh, accounting for 2.52% of commercial electricity output or 6.97% over the same period in 2022.
The current difficulty of the electricity industry in investing in power projects is determining the alignment to limit the clearance and compensation. The work will last for a long time, and it will be difficult to quickly deploy urgent projects to serve production activities of enterprises. The investment in power projects, increasing capacity and reducing load for areas has basically met the annual electricity demand in the area, especially the power source for industrial production, meeting the needs of socio-economic development of the province.
