On April 27, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) announced ranking results of Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2021 and the quality of province-level governance of Vietnam in 2021, assessment results of FDI enterprises, and the impact of the Covid-19 on business activities in 2021. In addition, VCCI awarded medals and certificates to the best provinces and cities in PCI ranking in 2021. Attending the announcement ceremony, on the side of Binh Duong province, there was Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of related departments and branches.
Accordingly, Binh Duong was ranked sixth and in the group of localities rated well in the PCI ranking 2021 and the quality of province-level governance of Vietnam in 2021, with a total score of 69.61 points. In the top 10 provinces in terms of PCI, Binh Duong is the leading locality in the Southeast region. This result is honorable when in 2021 Binh Duong was heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In the 10 component indicators issued by VCCI, enterprises’ positive assessments of land access in Binh Duong improved (+0.29 points), transparency (+0.58 points), time cost (+0.25 points), unofficial costs (+0.08 points), business support services (+0.16). This result is a clear evidence of the efforts of the authorities at all levels in the province.
This is also the result from the province’s reviewing and perfecting the single-window mechanism of business registration and resolving investment procedures, transparently implementing mechanisms, policies and processes. In addition, Binh Duong has strengthened the coordination between all government levels and branches in attracting and managing investment projects, supporting and solving problems for projects to be quickly executed.
