Son in Di An ward’s Binh Minh 1 quarter in Di An town is well-known as a
successful farmer with the pheasants-breeding model. Currently, Son breeds
around 50 pheasants, helping him secure a profit of nearly VND100 a year. He
said that breeding pheasants is not too difficult as they have a good
resistance.
Son said that after not working as a teacher, he officially got involved in farm doing. He also tried his strength in growing ornamental trees, breeding chickens for eggs…, but economic efficiency from them was not high.
Knowing that many people have become rich from breeding pheasants in Ha Nam, Son decided to get involved in the animal husbandry model. In early 2009, he bought three pairs of red pheasants with white neck rings from northern Ha Nam province and began developing the animal husbandry model.
Overcoming initial difficulties, Son has gained success in the pheasants-breeding model with high economic efficiency. He said that pheasants have a good resistance, so it is also not too difficult to tend them.
His breeding facility is now home to 50 pheasants with the annual profit of nearly VND100mln. According to him, a pair of six-month-year-old pheasants costs between VND3.5mln and VND4mln. Thanks to having high nutritional value, pheasant eggs also cost around VND50,000 each…
