Comprehensive development
So far, Phu Giao district’s economic growth has reached the annual growth of 12%. The district’s economic structure has been shifted in the right direction. The district has obtained comprehensive development in agriculture; upheld advantages in terms of land and workforce; formed up specialized areas on perennial trees, especially rubber, cashew and fruit ones. A glance of Phu Giao’s urban area
The whole district has till now developed 100 hi-tech agricultural models and 197 agricultural farms. With the State budget plus resources under the socialization form, the district’s rural infrastructure system has been built at 19 criteria of new rural construction, making the local rural image get thriving.
Along with agriculture, the district has gradually obtained development in terms of home industry and industry. The district’s home industrial and industrial production value in 2018 is expected to reach VND3.33trillion with the average growth of 12.19%. District-based businesses focus on mineral exploitation, processing of food-foodstuff, rubber latex and cashew nuts, contributing to the local economic development.
The district’s trade-service sector has also obtained considerable development. District-based trading facilities, market system, banking services and cultural-sport services have strongly developed in the township and communes along DT741 streets, well serving people’s demand for production and their life. The district now has a total of 4,815 companies and individual business households. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services in 2018 is estimated at more than VND5.03trillion, up 20.3% compared to that of 2000.
Doan Van Dong, Vice-Secretary of the district’s Party Committee, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that after 19 years of reestablishment, the district has made comprehensive changes in socio-economic development. Creating momentum for stronger development
Noticeably, the district has concentrated on economic infrastructure development, accounting for 25%-30% of the local State spending for basic construction. The district’s traffic system so far has been expanded with inter-commune, hamlet roads covered by asphalt; Song Be bridge in association with the DT741 street connecting Binh Duong with Binh Phuoc and central Highlands provinces, facilitating the development of the district in particular and of the province in general.
There are now 99.98% of the local people in use of the national power grid. It is expected that the district will have more than 380 km of middle-voltage cables, more than 375 km of low-voltage cables and 811 transformers with the consumption capacity of more than 121,000 kVA. The district has also paid attention to urban rejuvenation under the plan.
Mr.Dong added that the district has put focus on 6 major tasks to reach breakthrough development in terms of economy. Accordingly, the district will bend on absorbing investment projects, especially hi-tech ones that are less labor intensive. The district will attach special importance to stabilizing the State budget for the local development; promote hi-tech agricultural models, not only improving people’s life, but also implementing a target of building up a green-clean and nice locality.
Leaders of the district affirmed that the district will strive to fulfill the local program on new rural construction in early 2019; promote the local trade-service and urban development in order to develop into a green-clean and nice locality and a worth-living place of people from all strata.
