Phu Giao district was reestablished in 1999 with agriculture as a main economic sector, low State budget collection and shortcomings in terms of infrastructure. But, with the efforts by the local Party, government, people and the business community, the district has surmounted obstacles, promoting the local economy.
Appropriate development orientations
Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee has set up plans for enterprises to get orientations in line with the local development. Doan Van Dong, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that under the Resolution of the 4th local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure, the district has put forward concrete orientations, targets in order to help enterprises obtain sustainable development.

Accordingly, the district has strengthened hi-tech application into agricultural production, creating lots of breakthroughs in agricultural development; made the shift of agricultural structure towards hi-tech models in association with processing and consumption market in line with each locality. The district has also focused on developing hi-tech agricultural parks, concentrative cultivation-animal husbandry areas; attached special importance to processing industries in association with the local material areas…
Such these apart, the district has called for enterprises to make investment into industrial compounds approved, including Tam Lap 1 industrial compound with more than 68 hectares, Tam Lap 2 industrial compound with more than 52 hectares and Phuoc Hoa industrial compound with more than 66.6 hectares. The district has also perfected space allocation for industrial development. Particularly, the district has fostered industrial parks absorbing hi-tech industries and auxiliary ones in Tam Lap commune.
Enterprises with contributions
The district has attached special importance to associating the planning of industrial parks with the overall urban planning of Phuoc Vinh-Vinh Hoa in order to form up trade-service and urban complexes, thereby promoting the local socio-economic development; set up material areas for industrial development for the remaining communes and formed up industrial compounds-parks as planned…
In addition, the district will further perfect construction of infrastructure facilities as planned; well realize plans on industrial development and traffic in order to provide stable materials for processing and consumption at home and abroad…
Chu Khac Thinh, Chairman of Phu Giao district’s Business Association cum Director of Nam Thinh Electronic Private Enterprise said that the district has paid more attention to the local business community. Especially, the district has organized dialogues between leaders of the district and the business community, seminars on investment promotion and facilitated enterprises’ development…
With appropriate development orientations, the local business community has step by step risen up and reached vigorous development. Especially, with the birth of the district’s Business Association, enterprises herein will further reach breakthrough strides and make more contributions to the local development process.
It is known that as of late 2018, the whole district had a total of 482 enterprises with more than 5,400 laborers.
