Phu Giao bound for sustainable development

Phu Giao is one of the leading high-tech agricultural production areas in the province. Besides, Phu Giao is also enhancing the development of high-tech industry, aiming for green and sustainable development.

Agriculture goes into depth

The district currently has 263 agricultural farms, with an average total revenue of more than 21 billion VND/farm/year, an increase of 51 farms compared to 2020; creating jobs for over 1,250 workers. The district has 815 high-tech agricultural production establishments, with a total area of 1,400 hectares, an increase of 636 establishments compared to 2020; 117 agricultural production establishments were granted VietGAP certificates, an increase of 4 establishments compared to 2023.

Besides, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program has become an effective solution in rural economic development in the district. The whole district has 24 products recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as three-four star OCOP products, including 23 three-star products and 1 four-star product. Regarding new rural construction, up to now, 10/10 communes of the district have met the advanced new rural standards according to the criteria set for advanced new rural communes of Binh Duong province for the period 2021-2025, bringing about clear changes in people's lives and rural infrastructure of Phu Giao district. The district is striving to have 3 communes achieving new rural model by 2024, aiming towards smart new rural communes.

Mr. La Van Su, a resident of Tam Lap commune, shared that over the past years, the lives of residents in the commune have become increasingly stable and improved. Roads and schools are built spaciously, creating many advantages for people and localities on the path of development.

Industry acceleration

From an agricultural district, up to now Phu Giao district's industry has developed strongly. The district currently has over 600 enterprises and industrial establishments, attracting about 4,000 workers; there is 1 industrial cluster with an area of over 61.2 hectares. In 2024, the district's industrial and handicraft production value is estimated to reach 6,550 billion VND. Currently, the industrial sector accounts for 34.2% of the district's economic structure, an increase of 0.6% compared to 2020.

By the end of 2023, Phu Giao district still had 865 poor households according to the province's criteria, accounting for 3.27%; average income per capita reached 76.6 million VND. The district strives to achieve an average income per capita of 84 million VND/person by the end of 2024.

According to leaders of Phu Giao district, to ensure stable and sustainable development in the new period, in the coming time, Phu Giao district will focus on maintaining and promoting new rural criteria; promoting linkage, production and consumption of products according to the chain; orienting urban and rural planning; improving environmental management in the livestock industry; perfecting the collection, transportation and management of domestic solid waste; continuing building economic and social infrastructure...

In the industrial sector, the district prioritizes attracting high-tech projects that are less labor-intensive, ensure ecological environment, and develop green and sustainably. To achieve this task, together with the province, Phu Giao district focuses on accelerating the completion and putting into use of traffic routes that create momentum through the district and industrial parks according to the planning; well preparing highly skilled human resources to meet the requirements of investors in the new period...
