Over the past years, Phu Giao district Farmer’s Society has launched the movement of good farmers in production and business, receiving positive response from members. The district society’s branches at all levels have initiated this movement by various and plentiful forms in conformity with economic characters of every locality. Thenceforth, many typical models and examples of this movement help to develop local socio-economy. In addition, agricultural production has become diversified in attachment to processing and service, product consumption, bringing high efficiency of economy.
Trinh Duc Dung, vice chairman of Phu Giao district Farmer’s Society said that the society has over the past years cooperated with functional agencies to hold many seminars, training classes for on planting and taking care and using plant protection medicines on trees, cattle and poultries for farmers. In addition, the society has organized many short term vocational training classes on planting and exploiting rubber latex, growing mushroom, taking care orchids, ornamental fishes and more for farmers.
Specifically, in the year of 2014, the society disburses more than VND30bil from various capital sources to help 2,148 farmer households enjoy capital for homebased business development; cooperates with functional agencies to hold 82 classes on tech-scientific transfer for nearly 6,000 members; opens 36 seminars with the participation of nearly 3,000 members; holds 6 survey visits to typical economic models and among others.
Therefore, the district has emerged numerous exemplary models of the movement of good farmers in production and business. Typically, models of Nguyen Van Khai in Tam Lap commune, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep in Phuoc Vinh township, Nguyen Thanh Ha in Phuoc Hoa commune, Tran Van Ly in Vinh Hoa commune, Pham Van Dung in An Binh commune, Le Minh Dong in Phuoc Hoa commune and more have won high economic efficiency.
These are important factors to contribute to carry out the national goal program of poverty reduction and wealth making.
In order to spur the movement of good farmers in production and business, Phu Giao district farmer’s society often cooperates with banks to guide measures of production and capital lending.
The society in coordination with the local Bank for Social Policies, Agriculture and Rural Development Bank and more disburses capital for more than 7,890 members with the total value of VND890bil. Additionally, the society mobilizes companies, agricultural service agents, rich members to support nursling, species, fertilizer and animal food and more with the total value of VND14.987bil for 3,375 members. Furthermore, the society leaders introduces and places jobs for 11,720 rural laborers and helps 769 households escape poverty.
According to Trinh Duc Dung, the society will in the coming time continue to instruct members to build effective models as well as encourage members to strongly develop homebased economy and more.
“The society will continue to cooperate actively with banks to offer preferential loans for farmers, work with functional agencies to transfer tech-science as well as train and introduce jobs for poor farmers to help them escape poverty”, Dung added.
