In 2013, Phu Giao district’s Farmers’ Society and its affiliates promoted the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business” among members.
As many as 9,844 farming households registered to take part in the emulation movement. As a result, 6,644 farming households won the title of “good farmer in production and business” at all levels. Among them, 60 were recognized at central level, 644 at provincial level, 1,309 at district level and 4,631 at communal level.
The district’s Farmers’ Society and its affiliates mobilized and disbursed more than VND17.5bln in loan from many different sources for 2,073 households to develop home based business. They also teamed up with relevant agencies to open 135 classes on sci-tech transfer with more than 8,790 participants; organized 24 short-term vocational training classes for 636 members; introduced stable jobs to 236 rural laborers. There were 207 members escaping poverty.
Such these apart, they mobilized officials and members to contribute more than VND3bln, 1,380 working days for upgrading and building 41km of rural roads, upgrading more than 1km of canal, installing 11 water inlet sluices; building and repairing 20 great unity houses with a total expense of more than VND500mln.
