After six-year implementation of the Resolution of the 7th session of the 10th Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, Phu Giao has so far reached positive results in this task.
The district’s economic structure has shifted towards the growth of industry, trade-services. In 2013, the proportion of agriculture-forestry accounted for 42.1% of the local economic structure; industry-construction, 31.1% and trade-services, 26.8%.
The district is now home to hi-tech agricultural projects, including An Thai hi-tech agricultural park of more than 410 hectares and Phuoc Sang hi-tech dairy cow farm of more than 470 hectares. The whole district has a total of 363 various farms of nearly 4,490 hectares with a total revenue of more than VND580bln/year; 7 economic cooperatives, 9 cooperative groups…
Over the past time, the district generated jobs for more than 6,580 laborers; considered and disbursed more than VND6.398trillion from many resources for more than 47,800 households to develop home based business…, thereby contributing to reducing the rate of poor households under the province’s poverty line in 2014 to 3.39%.
So far, there have been 10 communes with new rural construction. As of June 2014, the district had 1 commune meeting all 19 criteria on new rural construction, 1 commune satisfying 15 out of 19 criteria on new rural construction…
