When being established on August 20, 1999, Phu Giao was one of the province’s poor localities. Implementing a policy on upholding internal forces, the districy’s Party, government and people have jointly taken breakthrough solutions, turning rural disadvantages into strong ones, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
Highlight in hi-tech agriculture
Phu Giao was one of the province’s poor agricultural districts 20 years ago. Obviously knowing about the local disadvantages, authorities at all levels of the district have flexibly applied policies and resolutions, paving the way for socio-economic development. Noticeably, the district has attached special importance to applying hi-tech solutions in agricultural production, creating safe products with high competitiveness.

Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that although there has been a decrease in terms of proportion, the district’s agro-forestry sector has obtained annual growth in production value with VND161.6billion in 2000 and more than VND3.99trillion in 2018. This also showed that the district’s hi-tech application in agricultural production has brought high efficiency. Another important thing is that the district’s hi-tech agricultural production has helped farmers gain initiative in the market.
Breakthrough in animal husbandry
The district now has 103 out of 195 farms on hi-tech agricultural production with the scale from hundreds of square meters to tens of hectares. Among them, there are 57 on cultivation and 46 on animal husbandry.
Anova Agri Binh Duong Joint Stock Company’s milk cow farm in Phuoc Sang commune is well-known as one of the district’s outstanding hi-tech animal husbandry farms. The farm is equipped with advanced technologies and machines from Europe. Platform for industrial manufacture
So far, the district’s main streets have been covered by asphalt. The district’s in-field traffic system together with paths at villages, hamlets have also been upgraded. There are now 100% of the local households in use of national power grid, clean water…
Upholding the advantages of DT741 street connecting HCM city with Binh Phuoc and central highlands provinces, the district has promoted industrial manufacture and services, aiming to deversify the local economic forms.
It is known that district-based Tam Lap industrial compound 1 are operational while Tam Lap industrial compounds 2, 3 and 4 are calling for investors. Vinh Lap industrial park invested by Becamex IDC is under construction. The district’s trade-service sector is on rapid growth.
In the first half of 2019, the district’s agro-forestry production value was more than VND1.9trillion, down 1.16% compared to the same period last year while home industrial and industrial production value was more than VND1.61trillion, up 9.4%...The result showed that the district’s industrial manufacture has played an important role in the local ecomomy…
Till now, all communes of the district have been recognized as new-style rural ones. The district is fulfilling documents to be recognized as a new-style rural district. This will be the next platform for the district to obtain robust growth in the comimg time.
