*Developing Phuoc Vinh into fourth-class city for 2026-2030
On the afternoon of March 14, Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with Phu Giao district’s Party Committee and People's Committee to hear a report on the local socio-economic development plan; urban development planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. The event was attended by Nguyen Van Danh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of departments and sectors in the province.
Reporting at the conference, Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People's Committee said that under the local socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Phu Giao district will further focus on promoting hi-tech agriculture, actively call for investment in industrial development, including industries for agricultural production, in combination with promoting trade and service development. The district will make the shift of industrial structure towards prioritizing industries with added value and high technology content to accelerate development; prioritize the development of industries with advantages of using the local raw materials, high-tech industries and limit industrial investment outside of industrial parks and compounds. He proposed to make supplement into the local land use plan by 2030 with 7 industrial compounds of 493.54 hectares. The district will also perfect the formulation of the general construction planning of Phuoc Vinh town to 2040 and submit it to provincial Department of Construction and People's Committee for appraisal and approval in 2022 as a basis for planning management and implementation of upgrading Phuoc Vinh to the fourth-class city for the period of 2026-2030. From 2030-2040, the district will focus on developing new urban areas in Phuoc Hoa, An Long, An Binh and Tam Lap communes.
Concluding the working session, Mr. Minh spoke highly of the local draft plan on socio-economic development and urban development planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. He also emphasized that with many advantages in terms of the transport network to take advantage of them in socio-economic development planning and urban development planning, the district needs to plan and develop synchronously, closely following the overal planning of the province, ensuring the local sustainable urban development planning in the coming time…
