Over the past years, agricultural production was seen as a strong point of Phu Giao district. The district’s sectors of trade and services have recently made contributions to the local economic development.
Realizing the role and importance of industry and trade in the process of the local economic development, Phu Giao district has focused on activities in the above fields.
One of the district’s measures to promote the local industrial and trade development over the past time was to attach special importance to building markets, supermarkets and trade centers. Finally, the district has so far had 5 out of 11 communes and township with markets in effective operation at the local people’s demand for buying and selling.

The district’s People’s Committee is also calling for enterprises to make investment in the system of supermarkets and trade centers in two communes of Phuoc Hoa, Tan Hiep and Phuoc Vinh township, creating favorable conditions for the local people to get access to great supply of commodities. The district is zoning Tan Lap industrial compound with more than 628,400 sq.m.
Over the past time, the district also attached special importance to industrial promotion, greatly contributing to the local industrial development. This task helped district-based enterprises overcome their difficult period, brace up production while boosting sci-tech development to raise the effectiveness of business-production activities…
Regarding power field, the district’s People’s Committee over the past time excelled at State administration. Accordingly, the local authorities at all levels sped up propaganda work to raise public awareness of using power and ensuring safety for the local power grid via the mass media. Hence, the local people took initiative in saving power and there were no violations of the local power grid safety. Since early this year, the district’s total output of commercial power has reached more than 59mln Kwh, down 2.23% compared to the corresponding period of last year. The whole district has saved 2.28% of the output of commercial power.
Since early this year, the district’s People’s Committee has instructed the local functional agencies to closely tighten control over the task of licensing the local people to process alcohol at home.
The local functional agencies have made dissemination of information about the State’s regulations regarding trade-services among the local business households. They have also discovered 43 wrong cases, 40 of which were penalized with a total fine of more than VND124mln while making 16 inspection tours of commodities and market prices before, during and after the 2014 Tet (Lunar New Year) festival with 12 wrong cases penalized…
With achievements done over the past time, the district’s fields of trade and industry have promoted the local economic development while contributing to fulfilling the local targets on socio-economic development under the Resolution of the district’s 3rd Party congress for the 2010 and 2015 tenure.
