Phu Giao district has always defined hi-tech agriculture as a major task in the local economic development.
Developing a modern economy with clean, safe and hi-tech agricultural models was one of policies regularly done by Phu Giao district over the past years. The policy was concretized at the district’s 4th Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure towards hi-tech agriculture.

Under the policy, since late 2015, the district has set a strategy on developing concentrated agricultural areas. The district has so far carried out a concentrated zone on animal husbandry and cultivation with around 1,000 hectares in Tam Lap commune. The district has also widely multiplied sci-tech applications for farmers in association with the Government’s preferential policies.
The district has formed up clean, safe and hi-tech agricultural models, step by step affirming and bringing hi-economic efficiency to the local farmers. They include the model of orchid growing in Phuoc Vinh township, the model of growing rock melons in An Binh commune, the model of growing safe vegetables in Vinh Hoa commune…
Nguyen Ngoc Diep’s model of growing orchids in Phuoc Vinh township is appreciated as one of the district’s effective economic models. Currently, she owns a 7,000 sq.m orchid garden with the annual income of nearly VND500million.
For the local clean agriculture reaching stronger development in the coming time, To Van Dat, Vice-Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that the district’s People’s Committee will set a chain system for the local agricultural products; continue implementing some effective agricultural models like those of growing rock melons, orchids, oranges, tangerines…; carry out an overall plan for agro-forestry and fisheries areas…The district will also create favorable conditions for the local farmers to foster cultivation-animal models under VietGAP standards.
Making the shift of the local agricultural structure, over the past time, the district’s People’s Committee instructed sectors and authorities at all levels to establish occupational sub-unions and groups to creating coherence in the production process, enhancing the value of products and their competitiveness. As of late 2017, the whole district set up 219 occupational groups on animal husbandry, cultivation, services… with 9,036 members, thereby creating a firmer development way for the local agriculture.
