While rubber latex price is going down, Phuoc Hoa Rubber Company has put more effort to find solutions to maintain production and ensure a stable life for workers.
Steady growth
In addition to falling latex price, Phuoc Hoa Rubber Company has encountered many difficulties, such as: rubber trees attacked by diseases, severe weather causing nearly 30,000 tree falling, more than 2/3 of the area becoming old… However, under the Board of Directors’ leadership, the collective efforts, and determination of all employees, the company has successfully completed targets of 2014.
In 2014, the company collected 19,186 tons of latex, increasing 687 tons compared with 2013; average garden yield reach 2.03 tons/ha; average yield of 9 consecutive years has been over 2 tons/ha. Total revenues was more than VND1,641 billion; more than 10,830 tons of latex were exported to foreign countries. The company has created jobs and stable monthly income of over VND6.3 million/person; paid more than VND156.9 billion to State budget.
Employees of Phuoc Hoa Rubber Company always work enthusiastically to overcome difficulties.
“In 2014, the company determined to fulfill targets, unite to overcome the difficulties. Collected latex exceeded 116.89% set target, thus living standard of worker was guaranteed. The company also lent loans to some workers for housing renovation”, said Lai Uyen Rubber Farm’s Director Nguyen Thi Phi Nga.
Overcoming difficulties
Real difficulties required the whole rubber industry to set out specific measures. According to Phuoc Hoa Rubber Company’s CEO Mr. Nguyen Phi Hung, latex price in 2015 would continue to fall down, affecting greatly output, revenue as well as worker’s income. Thus, right from the beginning of this year, the company has put forward specific solutions to ensure stable production.
Namely, the company will continue to maintain good quality management system ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001; apply measures into collecting absolutely liquid latex, maintain quality control right from the beginning to end-products; ensure diverse product types to meet customer’s requirements. In addition, the company pays attention to taking care of employees’ life, adjusting wages to encourage employees.
On the other hand, the company has promoted a good relationship with banks to have a stable capital source for investment projects of 2015, including investments in replanting gardens, fundamental gardens, and projects of three subsidiaries including Phuoc Hoa - Kampong Thom, Phuoc Hoa - Dak Lak, Tan Binh Industrial Park.
According to Mr. Hung, at the present, the company is preparing for replanting on an area of 1035 ha, and ensures 100% trees will survive at the end of this year. Regarding tree liquidation, the company planed to collect absolutely latex to ensure the best liquidation price.
