It is planned that by 2020, the sectors of mechanics, electronics and informatics would be prioritized to be accounted for increasing ratio of industrial production value. This will eventually open up market spaces for the supporting industry in those fields to be developed.
Extending scale
Statistically, enterprises operating in the mentioned fields are increasing in number. From 2006 to 2009, the number has increased by 27.1% to the existing 200 enterprises of mechanics ranging from moulded parts, car spare parts. By 2008, this sector has earned a revenue of VND 39,000 billion from VND 14,000 billion in 2005. As for supporting industry of electronics and informatics, production of computer peripherals, communicating equipments of which electronic spare parts are of highest proportion.

According to researching team for development of supporting industry in Binh Duong, 42.86% of such enterprises have reached advanced level of technology. However, experts asserted that supporting industry of Binh Duong Province in the field stopped short at engineering mechanics only. Other supporting products such as equipments for precision mechanics are still limited. As for electronics and informatics, domestic enterprises could only supply for parent companies as subsidiaries only. Therefore, to promot potentials of those two sectors, developmental strategies and supportive policies are needed
Dual leading supporting industry
The supporting industry development project has identified that two fields of mechanics and electronics and informatics would be leading industry to be promoted. Accordingly, production centers of car engines as well as hubs of mechanics will bê established to attract FDI from advanced technology countries. It is expected that by 2020, those leading enterprises could supply to wider markets of more sophisticated parts.
As for field of electronics and informatics, experts are building plans to transform from assebling to producing.
