Ly Thien Nu - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Co. Ltd., said that on the basis of the guidance of the Vietnam Rubber Union, the company's Union has annually developed activity plans focusing on taking care of the lives of union members and employees, at the same time, extending the time of activities so that union members and employees can enjoy more. Outstanding activities have created better living conditions to help employees feel secure in their work and stay with the company.
In the past 5 years, the company has built works serving cultural, artistic and sports activities for workers at a total amount of nearly VND 20 billion along with investments in medical activities at nearly VND 6.9 billion. Activities to take care of employees in Workers' Month were valued more than VND 393 million. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the union and company leaders organized Tet reunion for disadvantaged workers at the cost of VND 723 million.
The company's union has balanced the welfare fund effectively maintain the capital support program for workers with interest-free installment loans to build houses with 323 workers' households receiving more than VND 8.2 billion. Housing program named "The Trade Union Shelter" supports the construction and repair of 39 apartments at an amount of nearly VND 1.7 billion, supports 25 workers sufferring from fatal diseases at the amount of VND 163 million. In addition, regular activities such as visiting and supporting employees of sickness, labor accidents, affected natural disasters, and special difficult circumstances have been counted 44,369 times for an amount of more than VND 9.5 billion.
“The trade union together with the specialized department selected and organized domestic and foreign tours for nearly 11,000 employees at a total amount of nearly VND 32 billion. Employees are the assets of the company, so the Board of Directors of the company and the trade union always strive to implement policies to take care of legitimate rights and interests to preserve,” Ly Thien Nu continued.

Implementing the resolution of the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union on strengthening the development of the family economy among public employees, grassroots trade unions have propagated and mobilized officials and workers to actively participate in the process of working in the family economy to increase income and improve life. According to statistics by the end of 2022, the whole company has 38.45% of households working in the family economy with many highly effective models such as raising cattle and poultry, growing rubber, pepper, cashew, and trading groceries. Currently, the whole company has 100% of workers' households using electricity from the grid and over 95.46% of workers' households have built grade 4 houses and permanent houses, 1,789 working households have a good standard of living, reaching the rate of 36.63%, 3,095 households have average living standards, reaching the rate of 63.37% without poor households.
Ly Thien Nu added that in order to improve the spiritual life of workers, the trade union has cooperated with the Youth Union to carry out the annual joint program of cultural, artistic and sports activities. In addition, sports festivals, cultural performances of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, sports tournaments of provinces and districts have also been available. In the past 5 years, the total funding for cultural movement activities, physical training and sports were counted to an amount of more than VND 11.3 billion. The activities have contributed to meeting the entertainment needs, improving the cultural and spiritual life, and exercising the health of employees.
