Press conference held on National Innovation and Start-up Festival 2022 in Binh Duong

On the afternoon of November 24, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with People's Committee of Binh Duong province held a press conference on the upcoming National Innovation and Start-up Day 2022 (TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022).

Attending the press conference were Tran Van Tung, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Organizing Board’s Head of TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022. On the side of Binh Duong province, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Viet Long, Director of Provincial Department of Science and Technology, were at the conference.

With the theme "Open Innovation - Source of New Thinking", TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 aims to find solutions for fields that are heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and have potential in the future, such as healthcare, education, energy…; solve human problems, such as training and fostering human resources, to meet the needs of domestic and international markets; efforts to bring into play the talents of Vietnamese people, contribute to creating jobs and creating good values for future generations; especially to recover the post-pandemic economy and apply science technology into handling post-Covid-19 difficulties...

At the press conference, Ministry of Science and Technology informed about the organization plan and overview of TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022; operation plan of Technology Villages and main events of TECHFEST VIETNAM.

Questions from press agencies about solutions for developing innovation ecosystems; highlights of TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 etc. were also answered.

Tran Van Tung said TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 will be held in Binh Duong province. This is the province that is promoting ecosystem development, entrepreneurship, innovation; application of science and technology, transfer of technology related to economic development. TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 has many partners, especially foreign partners. In addition, the event is an opportunity for connection, a condition for everyone to see the potential for development in the future.

Nguyen Loc Ha said that it is a great honour as Binh Duong province was selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as the host for TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022, because this is a summation event and the largest program of TECHFEST VIETNAM.

With the goal of developing the province into a civilized and modern city, Binh Duong province has been implementing important strategies for socio-economic development, in which the focus is on building and perfecting the innovation ecology system; attracting and building high-quality human resources, stimulating digital transformation, and proceeding with smart city development - industry 4.0, working towards the goal of overcoming the middle-income trap, reaching average GDP per capita of $14,500 by 2030.

The organization of TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 will be a great opportunity for Binh Duong to have deeper and broader access to the start-up ecosystem of Vietnam and other developed countries, to connect and attract international experts and investors participating in innovative start-up activities in Vietnam.

TECHFEST VIETNAM 2022 is slated for 2 to 4 December 2022.
