Price-stabilized products for new school year are ready

According to directions of provincial People’s Committee in terms of launching price stabilization program in 2013 including products of textbooks, school appliances, Textbooks – Educational Appliances JSC and Binh Duong General Culture JSC have implemented stabilized prices on goods to service provincial pupils, especially poor ethnic children. In addition to selling goods at fixed locations, the 2 companies also deliver to pupils in rural areas Returning to difficult areas A large quantity of textbooks, notebooks and school appliances has been transported to rural areas to be ready for the new school year. Some large organizations have purchased large quantity in order to reward their good students. Since June, sales of price-stabilized goods at schools have been organized by the 2 companies for parents and students to buy early. At Dao bookstore (Tan Uyen district), a banner was hung: “10% discount against cover prices for textbooks, 15% discount against market prices for notebooks and school appliances”. Ms. Dao, bookstore owner, said: “This year, parents buy earlier, because most of people in Tan Uyen are low-income workers. Thus they have to chose carefully to suit their pockets”. Hoang Phuc bookstore also hung a noticeable banner of preferential prices. Mr. Dinh at this bookstore said: “Most of our customers are immigrant workers, thus the price stabilization program is practical and necessary in order for parents to spend economically for the new school year. We also contacted with 5 elementary schools and 4 secondary schools to sell price-stabilized goods”. Preparing for a sufficient supply Sales department’s Deputy Manager of Textbooks – Educational Appliances JSC Ms. Do Thi Nu said: “Our company commits a sufficient resource servicing well pupil’s purchasing. This has been the third year we participate in the price stabilization program, so we learned from experiences to improve quality of services”. Namely, at the end of this school year, the company informed schools, educational organizations of the program in order for pupils to buy textbooks, school appliances with discounted prices approved by Department of Finance. Besides, we also ship ordered goods to schools”. Since April, the 2 companies have prepared a sufficient quantity of goods. Textbooks – Educational Appliances JSC prepared 1.5 mln textbooks, 1.3 mln reference books, 1 mln notebooks and schools appliances. Total capital of this program is more than VND21 bln including VND10 bln from provincial budget. The price stabilization of textbooks, school appliances in Binh Duong province will happen from June to October 2013. According to the plan approved by provincial Finance Department, this program will be implemented at bookstores of the two aforementioned companies. Additionally, Department of Education & Training in collaboration with 2 companies will open more 75 selling locations across the province. Besides, some suppliers have distributed goods with 10-15% discounted prices to pupils in rural areas. Locations implementing the price stabilization program comprises of 33 places at TDM City, 10 places at Thuan An town, 4 places of Di An town, 12 places at Ben Cat district, 8 places at Tan Uyen district, 6 places at Dau Tieng district and 2 ones at Phu Giao district.
