New materials supersede price hike
Talking about advantages and difficulties in production and business operations, Nguyen Hien Triet, the General Director of Chanh Phu Hoa Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (the owner of Binh Duong Provincial Cemetery Park) informed that funeral services are special and new in Vietnam being challenged in terms of development and marketing.
Over the years, many models of cemetery services of the same size and form have been in turn born into competition, and when combined with increasing cremation trends, the market has become saturated. In terms of transaction volume, the Binh Duong market is larger than Ho Chi Minh City, but in terms of turnover and transfer, the Binh Duong market is significantly lower than that of Ho Chi Minh City’s.
In such situation, the board of management of the company aims for new targets of increasing revenue balance against transferring rate of lots for cemetery services within the park irrespective of 6.2% of profit growth in 2016 or 0.7% higher in previous year. In the meantime, dividends in 2017 is expected to be 20% of charter capital.
Analyzing the proposed mission, Triet informed of a society of information that requires brand names and market to effectuate business; however, the construction of brand names and image broadcasting of cemetery park are puzzling questions. Unsuitable and misleading information that makes sense to customers’ behavior and sentiment shall be ineffective. Therefore, different tactics are required in manner of tradition preservation, sacred worshiping and tributes in the modern world.
Another challenge is the scarcity and high priced construction sand, prompting the company to produce their own construction sand through closed-in heating process to create smooth and uniform sand to service the construction of tombs while maintaining the purity.
Trust inspiration
IDC Tan Cang Song Than (Di An Township) JSC is the first enterprise of the navy selected for pilot privatization. Only after 6 months of privatization, the results from production, staffing, and development of new types of services of the company have reached and exceeded the plan.
Nguyen Thanh Son, director of the company, said that after privatization, quality of service and efficiency of production and business have been prioritized. The Party Committee and Board of Directors have focused on consolidating the payroll system in a streamlined and efficient manner, incorporating the construction and implementation of the 3P payroll schedule (Position - Performance – Proficiency). The company has initially deployed a project to set up a payroll system based on the titles and assigned a performance appraisal target under the BSCKPI (the strategic management system based on the results of measurement and evaluation of the work efficiency); the norms of administrative expenditure package for departments have also been applied. The company has also mastered the ICD site by investing in the construction of a new 32,000 square meter warehouse, developing an additional 5.7 hectares of empty container yards, and refining the workplaces of the agencies towards the internship.
Currently, IDC Tan Cang Song Than Joint Stock Company continues to expand its business lines. Accordingly, the company deploys the service of customs agent, contractor loading and unloading contractors while developing a fleet to take the initiative in operating and improving service quality. Besides, the company strongly apply information technology in its management and operations while accelerating the time of importing and exporting goods as well as working hours in the distribution center and bonded warehouses.
Son affirmed that privatization has aroused confidence, pride and solidarity in the production and business activities of units and departments of the company. Privatization, managerial thoughts of staff of IDC Tan Cang Song Than JSC has been improved. Officials and employees of the company are increasingly aware of their roles and responsibilities in contributing efforts and wisdom to the company's sustainable development.
