Progress of perfecting industrial park infrastructure hastened

Along with some industrial parks fully covered by investors, province-based remaining ones have actively coordinated with localities to hasten the progress of site clearance for technical infrastructure construction, quickly absorbing investment projects. This is one of important solutions in the current period when the province has always made efforts in improving the local investment climate, absorbing more investors.

Perfect infrastructure system

Over the past time, the province promulgated many major policies to lure FDI projects for economic development. Particularly, the province mobilized all resources to form up and foster industrial compounds (ICs), industrial parks (IPs) at domestic and foreign businesses’demand for production and business.

Binh Duong has always attached special importance to building up a synchronous infrastructure system, developing infrastructure facilities of IPs in association with urbanization, creating a motivation for the local socio-economic development.

Under provincial plan on developing IPs to 2020 approved by the Prime Minister, the province now has a total of 31 IPs. The province has so far developed 29 IPs with more than 12,670 hectares in total, including 27 in operation with a total area of nearly 11,000 hectares. The rate of land tenancy at province-based IPs is 87.4% and there are 2,933 valid projects, 77.6% of which come from foreign investors. Businesses at province-based IPs have spent more than US$8.44billion on investing in workshops, equipment, machines for production-business. The whole province is also home to 12 ICs with 790 hectares in total and the rate of land tenancy at 67.4%.

It is known that investors have continued investing in infrastructure of province-based IPs, namely VSIP III, Cay Truong and expanded North Tan Uyen. In 2020, investors of province-based IPs spent more than VND208billion on building infrastructure facilities; attracted US$1.31billion in FDI capital or 60% of the whole province’s FDI capital amount and more than VND6.7trillion in domestic capital.

Pham Ngoc Thuan, CEO of Becamex IDC said that Becamex IDC and its partners have had adequate preparations of infrastructure facilities at 5 IPs, namely My Phuoc 1, 2, 3, Thoi Hoa, Bau Bang; continued upgrading and perfecting major streets, boosted connectivity with the southern economic key region.

Creating absorption

In 2020, the province continued boosting the progress of establishing and expanding IPs and ICs. Especially, the province will strengthen the progress of establishment of hi-tech and auxiliary industrial park while making support policies and encouraging industrial production facilities in the southern region to change to hi-tech and trade-service and urban development in line with the local development plan.

Accordingly, apart from developing industrial parks in the southern region, the province has reached a strong shift in industrial manufacture in the northern region. As planned, North Tan Uyen district’s total area for urban and industrial parks after 2020 will be around 2,208 hectares with 5 IPs and 1 IC. The result is due to the local traffic infrastructure system with modern and synchronous development. Whilst, Phu Giao district also approved the planning of 5 ICs with 307 hectares. So far, Tam Lap 1 IC has been built with more than 68 hectares. The remaining 4 ICs are fulfilling procedures for construction in the coming time.

Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade said that the province has always attached special importance to building up a synchronous infrastructure system, developing infrastructure facilities of IPs in association with urbanization, creating a motivation for the local socio-economic development. Thanks to having a well-built infrastructure system with favorable connectivity, province-based IPs have been covered with the rate of more than 87%. In the coming time, the province’s investment attraction into IPs will reach a positive change towards specialized, ecological and smart development.
