Part 2: Strong investment in infrastructure
Binh Duong has bent on boosting the development of trade-services. With their existing advantages, trade-services sectors have made contributions to the local socio-economic development. The province needs to make more efforts in dealing with difficulties in the sectors to be able to achieve the local targets on socio-economic development till 2020 and vision towards 2025.
Overcoming difficulties
Although achieving important results, Binh Duong’s trade-services sectors have faced obstacles.
Province-based supermarkets and trade centers in 2014 saw a slow growth in business activities. There was a 20% reduction in purchasing powder herein. But, they made efforts in mapping out promotional plans and preparing supply of goods with reasonable price for better competitiveness.

In general, according to functional agencies, the local trade-services sectors have still encountered some shortcomings relating to socio-technical infrastructure, environment, tax, retail trade…
The system of supermarkets and trade centers has not yet been apportioned equally, mostly in densely populated areas of the province. Also, there has been some shortcomings in management of markets and cooperatives…
Mobilizing sources for investment
At a meeting reviewing Binh Duong’s recent development situation, provincial leaders emphasized the importance of trade-services sectors. They over time contributed to quickly promoting the local economic shift, creating jobs for laborers, increasing the local State budget collection while being a motivation for the development of other economic sectors.
Under its overall targets on socio-economic development till 2020 and vision towards 2015, Binh Duong will make the shift of the local economic structure towards the growth of services, urbanization and high technologies, thereby developing the locality into one of the centrally-controlled municipalities by 2020.
The province will focus on increasing export turnover for industrial commodities; promote auxiliary industries, transportation and logistics services in line with the plan; develop e-business; step by step enhance the proportion of export on site in services of housing, healthcare, finance-banking, tourism…
For trade-services getting the set targets, the province will concentrate on removing enterprises’ difficulties to promote production and business. The province will also mobilize many sources for trade-services infrastructure investment in rural areas, facilitating enterprises’ goods distribution.
With current advantages plus the integral efforts by the local Party, government and people, it is believed that Binh Duong’s potentials and advantages about trade-services will be tapped absolutely, ensuring sustainable development.
