Protecting consumer’s interests – One mission, two targets

Provincial Consumer’s Interests Protecting (CIP) Association held a meeting to disseminate “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign. The meeting was to help members to understand high-quality goods usage, legitimate rights and awareness of using Vietnamese goods.

Helping in distinguishing counterfeit and authentic goods

According to participants, after the meeting, members knew about propaganda methods of Law of IPA implementation, how to distinguish counterfeit and authentic goods, production and sale of fake goods, infringement of intellectual property rights, and goods of unknown origin on the market.

According to Dau Tieng district CIP Association’s Head Nguyen Thi Mi, after the meeting, participants would disseminate knowledge of CIP among local peope and businesses, thereby, contributing to “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign.

Provincial consumers have bought more and more Vietnamese goods.

At the meeting, provincial CIP Association also conveyed necessary information and answered questions about CIP, the campaign. In addition, provincial CIP Association has notified members of how to instruct consumers to select good products, avoid poor-quality products, and response to the campaign of using Vietnamese goods.

Enhancing consumer’s knowledge

According to Management’s deputy head Nguyen Thi Lan Huong of quarter 5, Hiep Thanh ward, TDM City, thanks to knowledge from the meeting, the management have disseminated CIP information among local people in their meetings, get-togethers, thereby, detected, notified promptly poor-quality goods, and handled consumers’ claims.

According to provincial CIP Association’s Chairman Nguyen Van Ban, the organization has over 10,000 members. Since beginning of this year, the organization and its affiliates have made good propaganda of “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnamese goods” campaign. 

Members have informed people of Vietnamese high-quality goods, dangers of goods of unknown origin. The organization and it affiliates at all levels have also generalized consumer’s rights, interests, and established spots to receive and settle consumer’s claims.

According to Mr. Ban, in last months of 2014, the organization will hold meetings at grassroots level to help with improving consumers’ knowledge; promote propaganda of consumer’s rights and interests protection, avoid counterfeit goods, and encourage people to involve in “Vietnamese give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.
