Province accompanies enterprises in overcoming obstacles to maintain growth

The province’s socio-economic performance over the past seven months reached positive results, but faced some obstacles for change. The complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic has continued making enterprises face a thorny problem in production and business. Sectors and authorities at all levels of the province have taken support solutions for enterprises, helping maintain the local economic growth in 2020.

Challenges

In July, the province’s index of industrial production surged 9.4% and 6.1% compared to the previous month and the same period last year. The province’s export turnover was estimated at more than US$2.61billion, up 18.2% against the previous month. The figure over the past seven months was more than VND14.22million, up 0.6% compared to the corresponding period. The province’s trade surplus was nearly US$3billion. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services rose by 0.8% compared to the previous month. The value over the past seven months was VND144trillion, up 10% compared to the same period last year.

According to a report by provincial Department of Planning and Investment, from July 1 to 15, the province absorbed 343 new enterprises capitalized at more than VND2.38trillion and 92 extra-ones with more than VND2.03trillion. Since early this year, the province has lured 3,360 new enterprises with more than VND20.4trillion and 736 extra-ones with more than VND15.46trillion.

It is known that province-based enterprises, especially small and medium-sized ones since early this year have faced obstacles in production-business, due to the impacts from Covid-19 pandemic.

Surmounting difficulties to rise up

Since early this year, the province has implemented many practical solutions to remove enterprises ’difficulties, aiming to promote production-business amid Covid-19 pandemic.

To redress shortcomings and accelerate the local socio-economic growth for the rest of the year, provincial People’s Committee has put forward solutions, including supporting enterprises to develop; speeding up capital disbursement for public investment and FDI attraction; opportunely dealing with enterprises ‘queries, obstacles…Particularly, departments, sectors and localities in the province have been ordered to meet enterprises, helping them remover obstacles in the soonest time. They also need to promote administrative reform, improving the local investment climate; expand export-import markets…

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee emphasized that along with strengthening Covid-19 prevention and control, the province has drastically taken solutions, step by step removing hurdles, stabilizing people’s lives, using every advantage to ensure tasks on socio-economic development, maintaining the local stable growth. The province will be also proactive to set up economic growth scripts with concrete predictions for appropriate reactions, guaranteeing the highest target of giving priority to Covid-19 prevention in association with economic growth, striving to fulfill the local targets in 2020.
