As a land full of potentialities and in order to welcome new investment wages, Binh Duong has made efforts in urban and service development. The province’s desire to build up a modern city with diverse services has gradually come true.
The 8th provincial Party congress set forth five-year overall targets, including creating a new breakthrough to boost economic growth and raise locals’ living standards, contributing to vigorously improving their spiritual and material lives; planning on developing Binh Duong into a first-class city in the 5-10 next years...The Resolution of the congress also specified that the province needed to attach special importance to promoting industrial manufacture in association with urban-service development and environmental protection…This was an important foundation for the province to realize urban construction and create another new orientation for the local socio-economic development.

In the period of 2005-2010, Binh Duong reaped a lot of important and comprehensive achievements in many aspects. Trade infrastructure systems were upgraded and expanded, facilitating the local circulation of goods. In addition, services like post-telecommunications, banking-finance, information technology, tourism, vocational training…loomed large across the province, positively contributing to the local economic development. Provincial People’s Committee also approved regional and urban plans for Thuan An and Di An; a detailed plan at 1:500 scale for the new urban area in provincial industrial-service-urban complex…, which was seen as a highlight in the local urban development.
Besides, the province bent on technical and traffic infrastructure development. Locals also actively got involved in the movement of making rural roads and urban rejuvenation. The province’s transportation activities continued growing up with more bus routes at locals’demand for traveling.
There was also robust development in terms of power and water networks during the period of 2005-2010. Till 2020, there were 95% of households in the province in use of clean water. The province’s post-telecommunications infrastructure system was developed constantly. The province also continued attaching special importance to urban planning and construction.
Regarding finance-banking, there were many changes with the quality of services improved. During the period, capital mobilized was very amble, basically meeting economic sectors’ loan demand for production and business. Till 2010, the whole province had a total of branches of 35 State and joint stock commercial banks, 4 joint venture banks, 1 wholly-foreign owned bank, 11 credit funds, 84 transaction offices together with 520 ATMs…
According to experts, prioritizing the realizing of a goal of service development in association with urban development was very necessary and meaningful, helping Binh Duong promote its industrial manufacture, especially hi-tech industries in association with services. With “Clement weather, favorable terrain and concord among the people”, Binh Duong successfully realized its service strategy in association with urban development, opening up a sustainable development way for it.
