On the afternoon of August 15, provincial Steering Board of the National Target Programs held an online meeting to review its activities in the first half of the year, extend tasks for the rest of the year; the local task against African-hog cholera. Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of provincial Steering Board of the national target programs for the 2016-2020 period chaired the meeting.
In the first half of the year, the province’s implementation of national target programs reached positive results. Particularly, the whole province has so far had all 46 communes recognized as new-style rural ones. Dau Tieng district, Tan Uyen and Ben Cat towns have also fulfilled their new-style rural construction. The province’s total capital for new-style rural construction over the past six months was more than VND937.9trillion.
Under the national target program on poverty reduction, the whole province had 230 households escaping poverty over the past six months. In terms of the local task against African-hog cholera, as of August 14, the epidemic occurred in 990 breeding facilities and households with 60,740 pigs that were dead and destroyed compulsorily. However, the province took measures against the epidemic disease and reached initial results, contributing to stabilizing production and ensuring supply of food for customers.
Addressing the meeting, Mr.Dung spoke highly of the results of the local implementation of the national target programs and African-hog cholera prevention. He said that new-style rural construction is a regular process, so localities need to focus on improving the quality of criteria of new-style rural communes, uphold good ways in the implementation of the program for more practical results, better serving the lives of rural people, creating obvious changes in the rural region of the province.
