Province focuses on taking price stabilization solutions at year-end

The province has implemented a lot of solutions on market price stabilization, ensuring people’s demand for consumption at year-end. For greater concern, Binh Duong Daily had an interview with Ho Van Binh, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT).

-Could you tell us about the results of the implementation of provincial price stabilization program in 2018?

In 2018, provincial price stabilization program absorbed 11 enterprises with their total revenue before, during and after the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2018 at VND768billion, beyond 1.26% of the set plan. Along with selling commodities at supermarkets, participating enterprises, namely Dong Hung-Aeon Trading-Services One-Member Co.Ltd., Saigon-Binh Duong Trading-Services Co.Ltd., EB Binh Duong Co.Ltd. and Lotte Mart Co.Ltd., organized 40 mobile programs on selling goods in towns of Thuan An, Ben Cat and districts of North Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, Bau Bang and Dau Tieng on the Tet festival 2018.

In addition, provincial DoIT coordinated with provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city to hold a program on bringing Vietnamese goods to countryside in districts of Dau Tieng, Phu Giao, North Tan Uyen and towns of Ben Cat and Tan Uyen with market-days. On average, each market-day of Vietnamese goods absorbed around 20 participating enterprises with 45-50 booths, contributing to stabilizing the local market.

In general, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city, relevant agencies and enterprises in the province jointly realized a plan on stockpiling commodities for price stabilization and reached good results. The price of essential commodities remained stable, contributing to curbing inflation, well serving people’s demand for shopping.

-Under provincial price stabilization program for the Tet festival 2019, how have participating enterprises stockpiled their commodities?

The 2019 provincial price stabilization program for essential commodities like rice, sugar, seasoning powder, fish sauce, soft drink, confectionary, medicine…has a total value of more than VND2.07trillion with 11 participating enterprises. Of the total figure, more than VND1.26trillion will be the value of essential commodities (not including petrol-oil and medicine) launched during, before and after the Tet festival 2019.

It is expected that 562 tons of beef and buffalo meat, 4,411 tons of pork, 36 million eggs will be supplied to the market. Thanh Le General Trading Import-Export Corporation and Song Be Petrol-Oil One-Member Co.Ltd. are responsible for ensuring adequate supply of petrol and oil for the whole province with 10%-12% increase in amount compared to the previous year. -What measures has provincial DoIT stepped up to handle wrong cases pertaining to goods speculation and price hikes?

Provincial DoIT has coordinated with functional agencies to tighten control over the market, especially before, during and after the Tet festival 2019, aiming to stabilize the market and serve people’s Tet demand for shopping.

In addition, provincial DoIT will concentrate on inspecting the quality of essential commodities, joyful market-days of “bringing Vietnamese goods to countryside”, expos…to opportunely prevent and handle wrong cases on trade fraud, fake and poor-quality products.
