The province’s collective economy has continued being promoted, actively contributing to the local new-style rural construction movement. For collective economy upholding its role, the province has implemented a lot of support policies for this model to get more sustainable development.
Achievements done
The whole province is home to 139 cooperative groups with 1,423 members and 158 cooperatives with 55,494 members. Among them, there are 50 cooperatives on transportation with 7,595 members, 42 cooperatives on agriculture…, contributing to the local economic development.

In general, province-based collective economy over the past time reached positive changes. Its total revenue in 2018 alone was estimated at more than VND1.52trillion with the average income of laborers at between VND6million and VND6.5million per capital per month.
One of the province’s effective economic models is Thanh Long Transportation-Construction and Civil Engineering Cooperative in Ben Cat town’s My Phuoc ward. The cooperative was established in 2003 with 122 members and annual revenue of more than VND32billion. Currently, it generates jobs to more than 150 laborers with the average income of VND7million-VND8million per capital per month.
Nguyen Van Dien, Director of the cooperative said that the cooperative’s targets in terms of revenue and profit in 2018 surged 110%-160% compared to the previous years. To achieve this result, the cooperative bravely improved its production technologies…
Through emulation movements, province-based cooperatives have tapped their potential for production expansion; got involved in technological renovation; made coherence with organizations for market expansion, thereby reaching higher economic efficiency. Particularly, Thanh Kien Guava Cooperative, Tan My Fruit Cooperative, Hiep An Environment Cooperative, Phuoc Vinh Environment Cooperative, Bau Bang Transportation Cooperative…have worked effectively, contributing to generating jobs, minimizing environmental pollution...
Linkage for collective economy to reach sustainable development
Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice-Chairman of provincial Union of Cooperatives said that although socio-economic situation has faced difficulties, the province’s collective economic sector has still continued being strengthened and developed.
Along with contributions by members, province-based cooperatives have been proactive to seek many other resources for production-business development. Many cooperatives have made practical contributions to the local economic development, shift of rural economy and new-style rural construction.
Over the past time, provincial Union of Cooperatives was also proactive to coordinate with sectors, departments, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city to disseminate the Law on Cooperatives and relevant documents for members. In the coming time, provincial Union of Cooperatives will further make efforts to create favorable conditions for cooperatives, cooperative groups to gain more sustainable development; strengthen the linkage between collective economic organizations, form joint ventures with enterprises in and out of the province, helping the model of cooperative hold an important position in the local socio-economic development.
