Strengthening infrastructure investment
Over the past years, the Government gave priority to making investment in technical infrastructure systems in the Southern Economic Key Zone with a series of major traffic projects, namely the HCM city-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway, Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway, Long Thanh international airport, the belt street 3…, implemented. Acceleration in regional linkage
In his meeting with localities in the Southern Economic Key Zone, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc stressed that this is a flexible economic zone with great contributions to the whole country. The economic structure of the Southern Economic Key Zone is shifted positively with focus on industrial manufacture and services with high added values. The Southern Economic Key Zone is now home to more than 140 industrial parks and export processing zones. HCM city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong and Dong Nai are among the country’s top localities in export value with stable growth in industrial production value.
Also according to him, the Southern Economic Key Zone’s investment attraction has been selectively implemented in recent years, so there are many large-scale support projects in line with need of the whole country. Boosting hi-tech industries will make pervasion on all industries, generating hi-quality products for economic sectors in the zone. In the Southern Economic Key Zone, Binh Duong has become one of the country’s top localities in investment attraction into industrial parks. The whole province now has a total of 29 industrial parks with more than 10,000 hectares and around 1,500 enterprises in operation. In terms of investment attraction, the province has aimed at sci-tech industries, bringing high surplus values. The province has also always made the infrastructure linkage with HCM city and other localities in the region.
Forming up new industrial parks in the northern region has continued helping Binh Duong create a breakthrough in terms of investment capital inflow and effectively tap the local land fund. For example, industrial parks in the region, namely VSIP 2 of 345 hectares, expanded VSIP 2 of 1,700 hectares, VSIP 3 of 1,000 hectares, An Tay, Viet Huong 2, Tan Binh, Bau Bang, Tan My…have so far absorbed hundreds of investors.
Adolfo Orive, CEO of Tetra Pak Corporation in VSIP II said that Binh Duong has a very good planning vision with infrastructure facilities built continuously and getting more and more perfect; always aimed at connecting with the Southern Economic Key Zone via highway 13, My Phuoc-Tan Van…Most industrial parks across the province are built under modern and hi-quality development orientations. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that Binh Duong has a favorable position in the Southern Economic Key Zone with synchronous infrastructure facilities, facilitating goods transportation.
