Province makes efforts in improving investment climate, increasing competitiveness

Provincial People’s Committee has just issued a plan on the realization of the Government’s Resolution No.02/NQ-CP dated January 1, 2021 on further improving the investment climate, increasing competitiveness in 2021, thereby contributing to successfully implementing the local targets and plans on socio-economic development this year.

Positive change

In 2020, sectors, departments, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and cities in the province seriously implemented tasks, solutions to improve the local investment climate and competitiveness. Upon this, many barriers for production-business activities were removed. The efficiency of the province’s public administration was improved, promoting the local socio-economic development.

With the above efforts, the province’s investment climate was improved constantly. The province was among the country’s top localities in terms of provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI). The province also topped the Public Administration Reform Index (PAR Index) and the Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS) in the southeastern region and ranked nationwide in the two indexes.

Mai Ba Tuoc, Director of provincial Department of Planning and Investment said that thanks to having breakthrough reforms, the province has always taken the lead in FDI attraction nationwide. In 2020, the province continued absorbing nearly US$1.9billion in FDI capital. The province’s socio-economic achievements were obviously showed through fast and sustainable gross regional domestic product (GRDP) growth with the annual growth of 9.35%...

Further improving investment climate

In the coming time, the province will focus on some major tasks, solutions in order to improve the local investment climate, absorbing more investors, contributing to the local development. Particularly, the province will further build up the administration of the people, by the people and for the people with effective and efficiency operation; continue strengthening administrative reform in association with enhancing the quality of serving people; improve the quality of public administration centers at all levels; boost IT application, strive to provide 100% of third, fourth-degree public services in practical fields for people; intensify non-cash payments and foster e-business activities; implement a program on supporting digital transformation with the content of the realization of the Binh Duong smart city project for the 2021-2025 period.

Under the Government’s Resolution No.02/NQ-CP, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee stressed that over the past time, the province made efforts in improving its indexes, including PCI, Par Index, PAPI…, contributing to creating a favorable investment climate, absorbing more foreign and domestic capital in industrial manufacture, trade-services, technical infrastructure, promoting the local socio-economic development. In the coming time, sectors, departments and localities in the province need to further boost administrative reform, put focus on improving the investment climate, increasing competitiveness while creating the best conditions for enterprises to work effectively.

He also emphasized that focusing on administrative reform, improving the investment climate is one of the province’s major solutions to make the local policies on investment attraction come true.
