Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee made the statement at a review meeting organized by provincial Steering Board of Collective Economic Renewal and Development.
Binh Duong is now home to 347 cooperative groups with 5,944 members. They focus on loan support, sci-tech transfer, shift of plant and animal structure, job generation…Currently, the whole province has around 118 cooperatives. Their production activities have gradually reached stability with improvement, step by step overcome difficulties to rise up…But, the province’s task of developing cooperatives has still faced shortcomings for change.
At the meeting, Mr.Liem spoke highly of the efforts by provincial Steering Board of Collective Economic Renewal and Development over the past time while saying that the Steering Board needed to flexibly apply policies to create favorable conditions for the local cooperatives and cooperative groups to reap better evolution. He added that the province also needed to increase loans for members to expand production and innovate technologies in order to promote the local collective economy.
