Developing hi-tech farms

With a goal of making restructuring of agriculture towards added value increase and sustainable development, the province’s agricultural production has been invested under a large scale with hi-economic efficiency. The whole province now has more than 900 farms of more than 2,500 hectares with their operational quality improved constantly towards goods production. Collective economic models now loom large across Dau Tieng, Phu Giao, Bau Bang and North Tan Uyen districts. The average income of each farm reaches more than VND500million a year…

The province is also home to more than 500 animal husbandry farms with hi-tech application. Cultivation farms are mainly in the northern region of the province. The province is also forming up many specialized areas on fruit trees under the plan. The province’s total area of growing fruit trees now reaches nearly 5,000 hectares.

Over the past time, provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DoARD) coordinated with relevant units to deploy many support programs for farmers, thereby creating favorable conditions for farmers to actively apply sci-tech advancements into production for high-economic efficiency.

Towards modern agriculture

In the first half of 2017, the province’s agricultural sector continued obtaining stable growth with a total value of agro-forestry production surging 3.7%. The province’s total area of cultivation with hi-tech application increased by 18% compared to the same period last year. The proportion of cultivation now accounts for more than 42% of the local agricultural structure; animal husbandry, more than 53% and services, 4.5%. The rate of using new varieties with high productivity and quality obtains 80%-100%. There are 100% of the local area growing perennial trees mechanized. Upon this, the proportion of agricultural sector in the local economic structure decreases, but its production value still goes up.

Nguyen Tan Binh, Director of provincial DoARD said that the local sector of agricultural production will continue rechecking, setting up and adjusting planning for agricultural production, making the shift of plant structure in each locality in order to uphold the local advantages. Provincial DoARD will also further strengthen urban and hi-tech agricultural development in association with processing industry…

Also according to Mr.Binh, the province will continue more comprehensively and deeply carrying out a policy on restructuring of agriculture under its action plan on the implementation of the Government’s decision on “Restructuring of agriculture towards added value increase and sustainable development”. The province will boost the linkage between the State, scientists, farmers and businesses for sci-tech transfer in production, facilitating businesses’ investment in agriculture and helping farmers get access to new agricultural models…

The province now attaches special importance to developing orchards along Dong Nai, Saigon rivers in association with ecological tourism; promotes orchards in the northern region of the province in association with processing industry; boost hi-tech animal husbandry models…
