Binh Duong Daily has just had an interview with Vo Van Cu, Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) to know more about the province’s price stabilization program for 2012.
Could you tell us about the result of the province’s price stabilization program since early this year?
The implementation of the province’s price stabilization
program over the past 10 months was unfavorable, due to economy facing
difficulties. But, thanks to the efforts by participating enterprises, the
program also basically achieved the set targets. 
Joyful market-days have been organized with the goal of bringing Vietnamese goods to rural region, contributing to stabilizing market prices
Regarding products for the new academic year, after receiving the province’s preferential loans, participating enterprises had made enough supply for this market with total turnover reaching nearly VND20bln and prices that were 10%-15% lower than that on the market.
Participating enterprises also made efforts to prevent scarcity and price fluctuation for essential commodities that did not received preferential loans. Over the past time, there were many petrol price fluctuations, but petrol providers still ensured enough supply for all agents.
Purchasing power frequently sees surge on the occasion of Tet. How has the province’s stockpiling plan to stabilize market prices before, during and after the Tet 2013 been implemented?
Provincial DoIT has mapped out a plan to stabilize market prices in association with the program of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.
Provincial DoIT will also mobilize enterprises that do not get preferential loans to participate the province’s price stabilization program on the Tet 2013. Especially, provincial DoIT will coordinate with relevant agencies to speed up dissemination of information about the province’s price stabilization program for essential commodities among locals, increasing the number of beneficiaries and stimulating purchasing power.
Particularly, provincial DoIT this year has further implemented a price stabilization plan for essential commodities such as processed food, fresh food…with total value amounting to more than VND504bln. Thanh Le General Import-Export Trading Corporation and Song Be Petroleum Company will ensure adequate supply for the province’s petroleum system.
Provincial DoIT will tighten control over the use of loans; seriously deal with wrong cases pertaining to speculation and storage of commodities, trade of fake and poor quality products…; ensure stabilized prices that are always 10%-15% lower than that on the market.
What is the province’s detail plan on preferential loan for enterprises joining the price stabilization program during this Tet?
Provincial People’s Committee will provide VND67.65bln in preferential loan for enterprises to participate the price stabilization program for this Tet, down over 45% compared to the previous year.
Particularly, Dong Hung Trade-Services Co.Ltd (CitiMart) will be provided VND20bln in preferential loan; Saigon-Binh Duong Trade-Services Co.Ltd. (Co-opMart), VND14.45bln; Vinatex, VND20bln; Thu Dau Mot Trade-Service-Investment Joint Stock Co., VND7.7bln. Thanh Le General Import-Export Trading Corporation will be responsible for rice with total preferential loan of VND5.5bln…
Could you tell us about price stabilization plan for customers in rural region and industrial parks, compounds during this Tet?
In addition to selling commodities with stabilized price at supermarkets, participating enterprises will be responsible for implementation of the mobile sales program at 82 places of rural communes and industrial parks across the province.
The People’s Committees of districts, towns and city will undertake to arrange additional stores to better serve the local people’s demand for shopping during this Tet along with fixed ones.
