Tran Xuan Tra, Chairman of the communal People’s Committee said that implementing the new-style rural construction program has not only contributed to changing the rural image of the commune, but also improved the spiritual and material lives of locals. This result came from the integral efforts by the entire political system and locals.
Possibly speaking, residents in new-style rural communes across the province have felt very joyful and happy when their lives have been improved together with changes in the local rural image. Production value enhanced
One of the province’s top targets in the process of new-style rural construction is to foster production in association with agricultural restructuring, rural economic shift, hunger eradication-poverty reduction. Noticeably, the province has formed up hi-tech agricultural parks, farmsteads with VietGAP standards, safe vegetables-growing cooperatives and many facilities processing agricultural products with food safety and hygiene ensured.
The whole province is now home to more than 580 hectares of organic cultivation land, including 250 hectares of citrus fruit trees, more than 25 hectares of vegetables and 280 hectares of other fruit trees. Many households and farmers have also been proactive to apply sci-tech advancements in production for better development.
Nguyen Hong Quyet, Director of Kim Long Hi-Tech Agricultural Cooperative in Phu Giao district’s An Binh commune said that residents have enjoyed much benefit from the new-style rural construction program. Thanks to applying sci-tech advancements into production, the cooperative’s rock melon products always reach high quality under VietGAP standards. Every year, the cooperative supplies the market with more than 200 tons of rock melon with the average revenue of VND 9billion-VND10billion, thereby generating regular jobs for more than 60 laborers with the average income of VND6million-VND6.5million per person per month.
Over the past time, the province attached special importance to promoting agricultural production models, supporting farmers rise up out of poverty and enrich themselves. The province also set a mechanism absorbing businesses in agriculture and rural development, thereby helping farmers seek consumption markets, enhancing the value of the local agricultural products, generating stable jobs for tens of thousands of the local laborers.
Pham Van Bong, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the sector will further support and promote hi-tech agricultural models in association with environmental protection towards sustainable development; bent on replicating production models under the value chain with the local key agricultural products towards higher productivity, quality and food safety-hygiene, improving people’s incomes and lives…
