On December 10, provincial People's Committee coordinated with Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to review the implementation of the cooperation agreement on telecommunications and information technology for the 2014-2020 period, evaluate the results of the implementation for the 2021-2026 period. The event was attended by Pham Van Chanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; leaders of VNPT.
After 7 years of implementing the cooperation agreement between 2014-2020 and 3 years of implementing the Binh Duong smart city project, provincial People's Committee and VNPT Group have gained achievements on telecommunications and information technology infrastructure development, especially in the application of information technology to build e-government. This is a solid foundation for the province to continue cooperating in digital transformation for the 2021-2026 period. Within the framework of the program, there was also a signing ceremony of cooperation on smart city development, 4.0 industry development and digital human resources between Becamex IDC and VNPT Group. The program also supplemented cooperation contents in the field of digital transformation, business cooperation in telecommunications and information technology services between Becamex IDC and VNPT Group.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Ha spoke highly of the results in the cooperation agreement of the province and VNPT Group. He also affirmed that the province has always paid attention to, improving, strengthening cooperation, proactively created breakthroughs in each specific field with focus on closely following the national digital transformation program on all 3 pillars: Digital government, digital economy and digital society, in order to continue innovating the model of growth, transitioning to a service and manufacturing economy with high technology, contributing to enhancing the material and spiritual lives of the local people, forming up a smart, worth-living city. The signing of the cooperation agreement in the next period make will make active contributions to implementing specific digital transformation in each field, building e-government, developing digital infrastructure, building and carrying out an overall architectural framework, taking smart city solutions, developing high-quality digital transformation human resources…, contributing to building up the local digital government, economy and society.
On this occasion, VNPT Group presented 2,298 tablets with Vinaphone 4G sim cards to Binh Duong with a total value of VND 6 billion under the "Waves and computers for children” program, joining hands with the province to create conditions for students to overcome difficulties from Covid-19 pandemic.
