Province strengthens market inspection, supervision for Tet

Early January 15, provincial People’s Council’s Commission for Economics and State Budget had a working session with provincial Market Control Department and Department of Industry and Trade about market control, goods stabilization on the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2021.

Reportedly, under the General Department of Market Surveillance’s Plan No.17 on the peak period for market control at year-end, before, during and after the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2021 together with instruction documents by provincial People’s Committee, leaders of provincial Market Control Department instructed market control teams to strengthen unexpected inspection tours, prevent goods hoarding for speculation and price rocket, ensure food safety and stabilize the market to serve people’s demand for shopping on Tet.

Provincial Market Control Department also advised provincial Steering Board 389 on making a peak plan in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud during and after the Tet festival 2021. From November 20, 2020 to January 4, 2021, the Department inspected 57 cases, detected 52 wrong cases, handed 45 cases with total fine of VND570million, destroyed illegal goods worth more than VND200million. The province’s sector of industry and trade also carried out a survey on ensuring supply of meat at warehouses of units in the province

After carrying out inspection tours at some supermarkets, supply units, market control teams of districts, towns and cities in the province spoke highly of their management of goods, food for the Tet festival 2021.

Provincial Department of Industry and Trade has closely teamed up with the General Department of Market Surveillance with functional units to boost market supervision and inspection, aiming to effectively realize the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, fake goods as well as well realizing supervision and inspection over food safety at province-based traditional markets and supermarkets.
