According to a report by provincial People’s Committee, the province’s agricultural production in the first nine months of 2014 continued stably developing.
The province’s total production value of the agro-forestry and fishery sector during the period was estimated at VND2.344bln, up 3.4% compared to 2013’s same period.
So far, the total area under cultivation has reached 22,949 hectares, down 0.9%. The whole province has had a total of 140,756 hectares of perennial trees, up 0.3%. Of these, there have been 133,622 hectares of rubber trees, up 0.4% compared to 2013’s same period.
The local agricultural sector has also instructed relevant agencies to opportunely take measurers against pests on cultivated crops.
As of September 1, the whole province had a total of around 4.900 buffaloes, down 0.2%; around 22,100 cows, down 2.6%; around 450,000 pigs, up 7.6% and more than 5.9 mln domestic fowls, up 56.9% compared to 2013’s same period.
