Building the new countryside in the industrialization and modernization process is a great program of Binh Duong province. In the coming time, many programs will be implemented towards building a civilized, modern and sustainable Binh Duong new countryside.
Basic premises
Along with the strong growth of the industrialization and urbanization process, Binh Duong’s agriculture and rural development sector has made a lot of changes. The sector has continued gaining a strong shift towards industry and service. As of late 2010, rural laborers only accounted for 12% of the province’s total laborers.
Building the new countryside contributes to increase the local farmers’ production efficiency
The material and spiritual lives of the local rural laborers have been improved with the average income per capita of VND19mln per year. 100% of the local rural laborers have owned audio-visual equipment and means of transport. The whole province now has 419 cooperative groups in terms of agricultural production with 9,761 members. There are 1,773 farms with 9,154 laborers and 16,960 ha of faming land; 13 cooperatives with 627 members.
As of late 2010, 95% of the local rural laborers were in use of clean water; 96.7% of communes, wards and townships got national standards in terms of health; 100% of roads leading to the centers of the communes were covered by asphalt. There were 60 markets, 18 cultural centers and houses; 98.8% of the local rural laborers in use of electricity…

The above premises show that Binh Duong has enjoyed many advantages in the process of building the new countryside. The objectives of the new countryside-building program are to building modern socio-economic infrastructure; combine agriculture with the fast growth in terms of industry and services; develop a rural society with democracy and stability…
Provincial People’s Committee has just sorted out 29 communes for building the new countryside between 2011 and 2020. Concrete targets are to have 6 communes, 40% of total communes and 100% of communes getting standards on the new countryside by 2012, 2015 and 2020, respectively.
According to provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, some concrete issues will be implemented in 2011, including setting up the district-level steer boards for the national target program on building the new countryside and the commune-level management boards on building the new countryside; provide training for officials who are in charge of building the new countryside; make the plans for building the new countryside by 2015 and orientations till 2020…
